About this listen

She’s a haunted little songbird. He’s a bodyguard with broken dreams.

I’m a fraud. My climb to the top, the beauty pageant crowns, the music awards … none of them were earned. I stole them all, and they're slipping through my fingers. With my career on the brink of disaster, the last thing I needed were the death threats. Or maybe that was a blessing in disguise.

I thought I was guarding a vapid pop star. Then I heard her sing. Beyond the lights, was a little Songbird that needed help finding her wings. They hired me to protect her from the unknown threat that lurked in the shadows, but the real danger lay behind her haunted autumn eyes.

Protect Your Queen is the start of the Barkada series, following the ambitious siblings as they cement themselves as the world’s most powerful family. The books are interconnected, but can be listened to as standalones.

beautiful story!

Molly not only wrote a fantastic story but she also did a beautiful job narrating this books as well. Her and Jason Clark brought this story to life and I loved every second of it

Amazing performance by both narrators

✨ Protect Your Queen by Molly Briar ✨

**Listening to it completely made me swoon even more than when I was reading the story.**

Did you liked the movie The Bodyguard with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner but were sad that they didn't end up together. Well then you should totally read this one. Right at the beginning Jestiny shows you some of her sassiness. I love the interview at the beginning. I can only imagine how celebrity lifestyle is not only glam and expensive taste but can sure be cruel and the sharks are always out to get you.
I love how we get cameos from previous characters. Specially from Lea and Callum. I love that couple so much and even though they aren't main characters in this story you can still feel Callums protectiveness over his wife (swooning 😍😍).

Hearing Chris POV from the first time he hears Jess singing is beautiful and funny at the same time. “I’ve got you, little Songbird.”

I love how Molly always has the ability to write strong, and sassy females. I can only imagine that Jazz story is going to be fireworks. This story was very different from what I've been reading from her but I absolutely love where she's going with it.

The songbird and her bodyguard

This was my first book by Molly Briar and I really enjoyed reading and listening along! She has such an enjoyable and easy-to-read writing style that flows really well and sucks you into the story pretty quick.

This was narrated by Jason Clarke and the author herself, Molly Briar and the duet narration is fantastic! I was surprised (in the best way) to learn that not only is Molly an outstanding writer and narrator but she’s also a singer! And man does she have a beautiful voice. Then there’s Jason Clarke…I’ve had a lot of him in my ears this month and I’m not even mad about it! He was the perfect choice for Chris and gave each of the side characters their own voices and personalities which always leaves me speechless. These two played off each other so seamlessly that I just couldn’t get enough and didn’t want to stop listening! The emotion, the tension, the chemistry that they poured into this. WOW! And their accents?! Stunning performances from both of these talented humans.

Definitely adding more Molly Briar to my list! Can’t wait for the rest of this series and to meet the rest of the Barkada siblings 🔥
