About this listen

Westly:

The fall from NHL superstar to domestic disaster was swift and painful. When I became the legal guardian of my five younger siblings, I had no idea what I was doing.

One year later, I'm still lost. Coaching CU's hockey team might be the only thing I'm excelling at. But when our star forward is failing math, I have to do what it takes to keep him on the team. Even if it's going head-to-head with Jasper Eckstein.

One minute I'm confronting the notorious hockey-hating professor, and the next I'm agreeing to be his date to his twenty-year high school reunion. I don't know how that happened.

Jasper:

My rules are simple. I don't give extra credit. Ever. No matter how entitled jocks think they are, I refuse to give them special treatment.

But when Westly Dalton bursts into my office like a hurricane, all my principles fly out the window. Suddenly I'm giving extra credit. And I have a date to my reunion.

After one explosive night together, I want more, but his home life is a mess, and I don't want to get in the way. If all we can have is quick thrills, I'm okay with that. It's not like I could ever fall for a jock.

Contains mature themes.

Reading it was like skating on ice

Another joyous story with just the right amount of twists and turns and family conflict. Sweet loving family drama! Jasper and West were hot and had a loving friendship. Lots of hot sex that went both ways.

Nice

Rare to Loren to a nontoxic story. I really enjoyed it and how the characters developed

Good story. Good narration.

This was a sweet romance. West has been through so much in this series. He deserves a break, and Jasper is there to help.

I am still a little annoyed by this approach to the nerds hate jocks trope. Some of us were both. Some of us actually used math skills to help improve our athletic skills.

Asher's little fit seemed out of character, but that is also a theme in this series. Three quarters of the way through the book a character turns into a diva to build conflict, Sigh, okay. I did enjoy most of the story, I just like to be surprised, and I really need characters to stay in character. All romance authors should be required to study behavioral analysis.

Entertaining story with great narration. Now I need to find out if Ezra shows up in one of Eden Finley's series, because I swear that I have seen that name recently...

Oh be still my heart!

This one got me good in the feels. Seriously, for all of us nerdy kids that had to deal with bullying in our lives, this one is a must read! My heart strings were not only tugged by Jasper’s story, they were straight up torn my chest. So well written was his experience and trauma I felt it in my core. But the light was shined the moment he met the man who would be his love. Westley was going through his own struggles and trauma and the two together was the perfect match! Loved it!

An Absolutely Awesome Ending

I'm gonna gush about this story so there will be spoilers ahead

So in here we have Westly, the former NHL player whose parents died and he was made the guardian of all of his siblings. We met him in book three, as Asher is his younger brother. He is drowning as he tries to take care of his family, work, and everything else that goes along with being a young parent.

Because Asher is doing badly in a class, Westly goes to confront the meanest professor, Jasper, who has good reasons to not like hockey players. These two have an instant connection but Jasper refuses to help Asher until he finds out about the parents dying.

Jasper wants to go to his high school reunion to show his bullies that he was successful and no longer an ugly duckling, and we find out they beat him so much his nose was broken often.

Westly goes as his date and they hook up. I loved that Jasper was the one in charge while Westly was submissive.

What was supposed to be a one time thing ends with them falling in love and becoming a family, even though Asher dislikes Jasper.

And while I loved these mcs, man that epilogue. I was so happy to get to see what happened with all the guys from the series.

Iggy and Alexander did another excellent job, though parts of this audio file made it sound like they were very far away from the microphone. It was very noticeable at the beginning of the chapters when the narrators changed.

Amazing Finish!

Jasper and Westly are a great couple, though not my favorite (Jacobs and Beck are my favorite!) I still enjoyed their journey to their HEA - as usual there were some smokin' 🔥 scenes! Alexander Cendese and Iggy Toma are awesome team...but I have to admit that Cendese is probably the better half during scenes where there is a match going on...he's like the best sportscaster ever! When he projects excitement I get excited...when his voice is low and disappointed in a loss I am right there with him. This is book 5 in this series but I just realized it's connected to The Puckboy series! Ezra - The main character in the first book is Westly's best friend...lol. He was such a mess in this one I am curious about his story with Anton. I loved the last 15 min of the book was spent showing us where everyone in the series is 5 years into the future! Definitely the sign of a good writer is when one of their books gets you hooked you are suddenly interested in other books they've written - especially in the series. Eden Finley and Saxon James are awesome on their own but they have proven together they are a powerhouse.

4 stars - worthy of a repeat listen

Love love love

Love iggy toma as a narrator, have loved him since Blindside by Eden Finley. It’s so great to have this story come alive with the two narrators’ performance.

I'm a sucker for this dynamic

I love this dynamic so much between Jasper and West.

Bittersweet since this is the end of the CU series.
