Publisher's summary

Louie Cogburn had spent three days holed up in his apartment, staring at his computer screen. His pounding headache was unbearable - like spikes drilling into his brain. And it was getting worse. Finally, when someone knocked at his door, Louie picked up a baseball bat, opened the door, and started swinging...

The first cop on the scene fired his stunner twice and Louie died instantly. Detective Eve Dallas has taken over the investigation, but there's nothing to explain the man's sudden rage or death. The only clue is a bizarre message left on his computer screen: Absolute Purity Achieved.

And when a second man dies under nearly identical circumstances, Dallas starts racking her brain for answers and for courage to face the impossible... that this might be a computer virus able to spread from machine to man....

Narrator was excellent

First off, it's a good book! Let's skip to the narrator and how animated she was. She read it out loud like I read it in my head. Plus the accent was cool too.

Another Book, well written.

Loved the book, and I especially love the narration by Susan Eriksen. All the different characters she plays is awesome. Another book well written, on to the next book.

SRFarrell

Loved it! Nora Robert's is a fantastic writer as JD Robb. I have read and listened to almost every book she published.

Great Story

I’ve only recently started listening to, instead of reading, the Eve Dallas series. I’ve always criticized Eve herself…I think she’s a big bully who, too often, obviously enjoys the power of her badge. Further, her insistence on being addressed as “Sir” is stupid and insulting to her gender. Reading it is irritating enough, listening to this aspect of the book is a lot worse. I feel like my ears need a spa trip to recover!

That said, it’s a great story and I won’t fault Erickson for performing a character she didn’t write.

Purity Achieved

It's hard to write anything new about a JD Robb 'In Death' book. This is actually my second listen--I'm finally listening to the whole series in order. Sometimes the premise of the crime/villain is over the top, but I really don't care. I get really tired of the author using the word "muse," also, but even so, I don't care. I still won't sit down and read a Nora Roberts book, but I just love her as JD Robb. I love the characters and the humor. The rest doesn't seem to matter much--and that is saying something because I am quick to put down books that make me roll my eyes in disgust or boredom. I never EVER thought I would be hooked by JD Robb books, but I am.

Another excellent In Death

I have listened or read the In Death series since 1995 when my daughter in law gave me the first book. With everyone using their electronic devices all day This book has a great spin on the dangers of that. I’m not saying anything like this would ever happen but it’s a very good read. I’ve enjoyed the police procedure part of the Eve Dallas world for many years and also the lives of all of the characters. This book is exciting and one that will pull you in from the beginning.

Love this book!!

I love the interactions with everyone!! This is one of my favorites. Can I just say Susan Erickson makes these stories come to life so well!! She makes me laugh and cry. Nora makes these characters come to life in her stories. I feel like I know Roarke and Eve personally. I love these books.

Bad narration.

Narrator did way too much screaming instead of talking. Couldn't get over it and it ruined a big part of the enjoyment for me.
