About this listen

Quincy Fi Dileas is a typical 13-year-old boy who just wants friends. During an unexpected visit to his grandfather’s house, a mob persecutes Quincy’s family, and Quincy accidentally discovers a new world called the Land of Exousia.

Exousia is full of sorcery, castles, heroic combat, and mystery. However, Quincy is devastated when he finds out he cannot return to his family unless he finds a special key. Quincy, along with his sidekicks, the zealous Maggie Trippet and the timid Pole Eisenman, work together to face monsters, compete in a tournament, and finally confront the dreaded Queen of the East.

Fantastic Narration!

I would recommend this book to people who love fantasy YA. I had a blast listening to this. The narrator did an amazing job of making the world come alive. It’s compelling and the pacing was perfect - overall a great listen!

Great listen

I got this book as something for me and my young nephew to do together. Every time we listened, we got sucked in and listened for longer than we thought we would. We both agreed that there was something both really soothing and really compelling about the narrator's voice. It was like being read to by a beloved teacher or parent. Give it a go, and I'll be looking for other books narrated by this person.

Riveting story and narration

I’ve been listening to this book on my daily commute back and forth to work every day. The narration complements and enriches the story so well! I have listened to other books on tape and have not liked the narration at all, sometimes putting down the narration to read instead. I felt I was in the story as I listened and looked forward to stepping into another world on my way to and from work everyday. I can’t wait to listen to the next one.

Wonderful Story and Narration!

My 10 year old son and I listened to this book together. What a magical journey Quincy experiences! The narration brought the story to life and transported my son and I into this new world. Highly recommend!

Fun and Compelling

This was a really interesting story! I enjoyed the characters and the journey they go though. If you are a fan of Percy Jackson or Harry Potter, you will enjoy this book! It was a fun way to pass a commute but I'm not sure if it's one that I would listen to again. I think because the land of Exousia didn't pull me in like other fantasy worlds. I didn't finish the book and wish I could travel there and spend time with Quincy and his friends.

The narration was delightful! It pulled me right in and I felt like I wasn't just hearing the story, I was living it. A strength was the different characters and I was able to recognize each one immediately without being over the top or silly. It felt very authentic and genuine for each character which is truly impressive. The pacing was perfect for the story and never brought me out of the moment. I highly recommend this book for the narration alone.

In summary, the book was good and the narration was the cherry on top making is a very enjoyable listen.
