About this listen

A paramedic turned arcane warrior.

An unforgiving world that weeds out the weak.

A secret that will bring the Gods to their knees.

James has no idea why he was ripped from his life as a paramedic and transported to a strange new world with rules like those of a video game. But he knows he has to adapt quickly, as ending up in a spider’s belly was never high on his to-do list.

With only a vague quest, a mysterious brand, and promises of help from a cantankerous old lady to guide him, James must level up into the warrior this strange, yet beautiful world so desperately needs. New allies join him on his journey, as they venture to the Dwarven City high in the Crimson Mountains in pursuit of the first clue.

Can James figure out the rules of this land in time to save it from its prophecy? Or will the dark secrets contained in his mysterious brand consume him?

Great performance good material.

Story feels a little all over the place but still a fun time. I will continue to follow the series.

Could’ve been better

It started out really good and then got complicated and The ending could’ve been better but other than a few things I enjoyed it

MC is a bit daft

overall quite enjoyable. The MC is a bit of an idiot, and despite knowing his flaws he continues to make dumb decisions and say stupid things - but gets rewarded for doing so (eventually). There are a couple of editing errors, a repeated line here or there, but all of that said - I'll get the next book when it comes out.

look out for cilantro!

this book is actually really good for the majority of it. but as soon as he "burned" himself I knew this entire story , next three books. let's see if he can suprise, I hope so. and my hope was well placed. the end rocked.

Dumb MC

the main character regularly makes the dumbest choices possible. half of these issues couldve been avoided if this guy was just a little brighter, like an issue he has after using to many items at once, even though he never even thought what one does he used all of them and caused permanent damage. same with sleaping in every dungeon he goes in

Those darn dwarfs

I truly enjoyed reading/listening to this book. I still don’t understand how the MC got to this world, but that is a little like The Land. The dwarven city made me think of most governments, it takes a long time to get anything done. My favorite part was the library. I look forward to the next book.
