About this listen

Rath and Paisen completed all 50 kills in their contracts with the Janus Group. But when they uncovered the criminal organization's darkest secret, the Janus Group unleashed an army of assassins to silence the rogue pair. With help from a former Interstellar Police detective, Rath and Paisen survive - barely. Their plan to attack the Janus Group head-on may be suicide, but in the end, they'll tear the organization to the ground...or die trying.

5 Stars - A Great Continuation to the Series!

All our favorite characters are back for the conclusion to our adventure that began with book one. The author has not lost any of his story telling ability in this third chapter, as it holds up just as well to books one and two. Without providing spoilers, I will say the narration continues to be excellent and the conclusion to our current story is satisfying and does not leave any frustrating loose ends. I understand another book in the series will be available soon and I will be sure to pick it up!

Good, very good

The first two books where enjoyable and the third started out as an enjoyable distortion. Great Narration and A good story. Then it turned absolutely amazing, one of the best conclusions to a trilogy I've ever heard/read. The ending had me laughing my head off with a very satisfying conclusion.

Great Space Opera Trilogy

I'm writing 1 review for for the first 3 books. The title says it all.

These books have everything I look for in a "space opera". While not David Weber's "Honorverse" books, yet there is a very complete "galaxy " built, and without long, explanatory paragraphs or tech details. Best of all,the lines between good and evil are often a little blurred. Our protagonist is after all, a murderer.

The Rath franchise continues to deliver

Rath's Reckoning, Book 3 of Piers Platt's The Janus Group picks up where Book 2 left off. Bousaran is saved by his father-in-law who reveals his part in the guild, while Rath and Paison are saved by Martin. What follows is an engaging sleuthing exercise that gradually leads to the real guild leaders. Rath's super memory plays a central role. While the story cycles between a Paison solution (kill everyone) and Boursaran's solution (arrest them all), Rath engineers a clever, orthogonal compromise that leads to a most satisfying conclusion.

The sci-fi elements are in line with earlier installments, although some military style weaponry is employed. Cyber this time out becomes critical. The story suffers a bit from some simplistic plot lines and the characters are still a bit too formulaic in execution, but the overall story is both compelling and engaging.

The narration is again quite well done with an excellent range of voices. Pacing and tone are nicely aligned with the action. Book 3 nicely completes a trilogy, although Rath's character is just too intriguing to simply go to ground and disappear.

Great ending to the trilogy

While some may consider the ending predetermined, the storyline itself and the detail was exceptional. If you were looking for a sharp action adventure the series fits the bill.

Totally unnecessary profanity. Otherwise great.

I find it so amusing that the author would decide that the perfect and most frequently used expletive around the year 2400 will be the "f word." I found this rather distracting from an otherwise 5 star story and performance.
