About this listen

When the plague came, federal agent Ellie Colson fled into the Adirondacks with Dee, the daughter she barely knew. They began a new life as subsistence farmers, isolated from the fall of the world. In the six years since, a small community has arisen from the ashes. Dee is grown up. She's engaged to Quinn, a young man from across the lake. And she's being hunted.

Strangers are spying on the farms at night. Dee's harassed by a spurned suitor. One of Quinn's dogs turns up dead. Drawing on her old skills, Ellie launches an investigation of the locals. Turns out Quinn's dad has made some bad decisions. Some enemies, too. The strangers aren't after Dee—they're after Quinn. When he goes missing, Quinn's dad fears the worst. But Ellie has a lead. She and Dee track the kidnappers into the post-apocalyptic wilderness of New York—and into darker lands than Ellie could ever imagine.

I liked the narrator. A lot of people seem to think it was a boring book. Although it wasn't spectacular the story held my interest. The characters seemed realistic enough to be interesting. Tough independent type sets out to rescue her friend. I agree though, not too much about aliens in this book.

B+

I continue to be impressed by Mr. Robinson. His work spans Scifi and fantasy in many forms. I'm especially impressed by his ability to create compelling characters with interesting perspectives and back stories. His strong female characters in this book are especially good. I highly recommend this book and all of the Breakers series.

Fantastic Book!

I'm going to listen to the whole series. Author ties everything together smartly. Good stuff.

great series

In this book we finally revisit Elle and Dee after their long absence since their story arc began in book 1 and while the new story arc was entertaining and satisfying, the new set of characters, Lucy and Tilly really set this book ablaze with a story of one person's dogged determination to save her childhood friend, even when that friend wanted nothing to do with her.

Another couple of sleepless nights but well worth the shadowed and sunken eyes and lack of focus accompanying them.

Where does Reapers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very high. All of Robertson's audible books that he has put out so far are read by Ray Chase who is one of the best readers. I hadn't heard him before but was so happy as he has the characters down pat.

What did you like best about this story?

A great continuation in the Breakers series. I have all the ebooks and all the audible books. Yes they are worth reading AND listening too. Definitely worth "reading" twice.

Which scene was your favorite?

Will not reveal plot!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely - I put in my ear buds and went about my day with chores and running around.

Any additional comments?

Any Robertson book is not only worth reading but listening to. One of my favorite authors.

Introduces some new characters and follows up on characters from the prequel novella and others.

Another great book in this series.

I started this series with the novella, which happened to be the story about Ellie, Dee and Chip. I was excited to get to this book as it was to be their story continued but in the future. The book was not what I expected after reading the novella. It wasnt bad just different then the previous books. it was definitely a good listen and a great addition to the series. I just felt it was a bit slower paced and it seemed to leave out the previous books main antagonist. The author decided to focus on another possible situation that could and more than likely would occur after the world as we know it ended. I just found it odd that one of the main characters (I guess you could call the aliens that) in all the other books up to this one was only mentioned a few times and played zero part in the conflict or events of this book. Still this book is definitely worth listening too and I can't wait to start on the next one!

A good edition to the series
