Publisher's summary

The worst blows come from those closest to your heart.

Idealistic superhero, Prism, has taken the Supervillain Rehabilitation Project to new heights. With her team thriving, her marriage to former supervillain, Fade, blissful, and her first child on the way, the life of her dreams is within reach...but supervillains never rest.

When a mysterious gang of criminals targets superhero facilities, Prism's team springs into action. However, these villains have a nasty surprise in store for Prism: All its members are already dead...and one of them is a ghost from Prism’s past. One she can’t bring herself to take down.

Faced with an enemy who always strikes for the heart, Prism has impossible decisions to make. Choices that could cost her the things - and people - she cares for the most.

The third book spoilers ahead

Reborn is the third book in H.L. Burke's Supervillain Rehabilitation Project series. Please do not start here, go back and read the first book Reformed. Reborn relies heavily on the events of Reformed and spoils most of the plot twists and reveals of the first book.

Emotions are at the heart of this book. Emotions of loss, emotions of joy and even emotions of righteous fury that make you question the ethics of those in authority. Bring tissues.

⚠️ Spoilers begin here. Final warning. ⚠️

I loved it he character growth that this series has. Prism is still hopeful and optimistic, but you can tell that her faith in the system, even her faith in people is starting to break down. This is two committee members now who have turned out to be evil. She knows that there is no saving DOSA. for the first time prism makes the selfish choice to just save her family.

I just realized Prism is basically Steve Rogers.

Fade is still the perfect man but his arc takes a turn I didn't see coming. With a baby to think about now he ends up making some hard choices to protect his family. (Also Fade proves beyond doubt that he is worthy.)

FYI: Yui the babysitter, is an image you need in your life.

Aiden goes through hell and back. Maybe even literally. His full trauma isn't really explored, there just isn't enough time, but where someone else may have their faith shaken, his seems to come out of it stronger.

New character Wyldfire is the break out comedy relief, that makes this whole emotional rollercoaster bearable. He is too innocent to be a supervillain.

Once again Rena Gale brings this all to life with her stunning vocal talents, that make you think your listening to full cast audio. This series is worth it just to listen to her talk to herself. I really can't imagine this series done by anyone else.

perfect everything!

This story has an amazing plot, wonderfully written characters, and moral quandaries relevant to everyone, super-abled or not. I love seeing Prism and Fade progress in their relationship, and the addition of a baby to their family is well done. The way faith is woven into this fantasy world works excellently. Highly recommend!
