About this listen

A cruise ship drops anchor on a coral reef in the Caribbean Sea trapping Mike Scott underwater while the air supply in his scuba tank slowly drops toward zero. The computer systems in a car are hacked and the car and runs into George Town harbor, nearly drowning the driver. A "cone of silence" drops over the island nation, cutting off communications between Grand Cayman and the outside world.

Is this the work of a cyberterrorist bent on protecting the environment without regard for human life? Or is it something else entirely? This thriller has Mike Scott racing against the clock to unravel the mystery before the entire world is thrown into chaos.

Great mixture of adventure, technology and crime.

This was my first Mike Scott series book. I was afraid that jumping into the series in the middle might leave me a bit lost, but that wasn't the case. You get just enough backstory to understand the characters but at the same time the content is focused on the story at hand. The books does a good job of standing on it's own. Pace picks up at it goes with a strong finish. I got a smile out of the Clive Cussler reference. I assume the author is a fan of his (as am I). I get the same style of adventure/thriller vibe as Cussler. Overall I very much enjoyed the book. Voice acting was great with good differentiation between characters and a nice flow to the content.

Enjoyable book!

It took me a while to relax into the narrater’s voice-I didn’t like it at first-but he grew on me. That said, the story is very enjoyable, if at times predictable. Perfect for a hot day in a land-locked state, wishing you were on an island somewhere.....

Great thriller, catches the feel of Cayman Island

I've spent quite a bit of time on Grand Cayman Island, so I was very interested in listening to this novel. I was not disappointed. It's an action-packed story that really captures the feel of the Island. It's also a non-stop adventure that reminds me of the old John D. MacDonald Travis McGee novels, which I still enjoy rereading. LIke them, this novel really captures the experience of people who love the ocean and a life built around sailing and diving. I don't want to spoil the story for those who haven't heard it yet, but it's a wonderful thriller filled with plot twists, and is a book you'll have a hard time putting down. Highly recommended!

Fun dive into cyber hacking an entire island

Fun listen , some hacking terminology was a bit off but only by a little.... great story otherwise.
