Story
In July of 2016 a plague swept the world, and the civilization collapsed and fell. For a lone National Guard sergeant, a veteran of the wars overseas who had settled down to a new life, the nightmare began on a hot summer evening at the barricades. Orders and chaos, gunfire and being overrun, his unit dwindles away in the face of the infected. Months later, living in the ruins, the thud of helicopter rotors followed by a crash and the rescue of a downed pilot leads Nick Agostine back into the arms of the US military.

Story
BANGKOK, MARCH 2018. The world looked on in horror as millions of innocent lives were snuffed out in a matter of hours. Countless men, women and children slaughtered without mercy, torn apart by a violent mob that attacked without reason, motive or warning. Tom Freeman witnessed the aftermath. He reported on the tragedy and looked into the eyes of the sole survivor, an old friend, and what he saw looking back sent him running home to the United States. Back to safety. Back to a place where the world made sense, and the putrid stink of the dead didn't haunt his nightmares.

Probably an accurate representation....
I think this last omnibus shows how American will be post collapse. Tribal and small communities. Some good leaders and some evil. Few glitches in the audio on the one. Could have sworn the narrator said "911" when referring to a .45ACP 1911.

Well rounded series
Although I love post apocalyptic fiction, I am not one to read or listen to books that are heavily military based. That said, I enjoyed listening to this whole series. The characters were well rounded and it was an easy listen.

Great storyline and performance
Performance on this story was captivating and added to the story itself. The plot was interesting with nice twists. The faxt that the author knew the subject matter (military life) made this believable and exciting to follow.

A good wrap up to the series
I listened to all the audio books from this series and I felt this last omnibus was the best of the three. All zombie books have some sort of "evil agency" that operates in the background of the main zombie story but this series takes that idea much further and that dynamic seems to take the lead...the United States is broken down into factions warring for control with a zombie backdrop for some flavor.
Overall the series was decent, but nothing overly new (other than what was noted above) and it is not something I would consider reading/listening to again.
If you're a zombie fanatic or have a long car drive ahead of you, this could be a good listen for you.

Revive: The Last Omnibus WTF 7-9
If you're a fan of military sci-fi and action-packed thrillers, this omnibus is a captivating listen that continues the intense journey of soldiers caught in an intergalactic conflict. This audiobook delivers non-stop action, high stakes, and emotional depth that will keep listeners on the edge of their seats.
Andrew B. Wehrlen's narration is a perfect match for the gritty and tense atmosphere of the WTF series. His voice delivers a sense of urgency and gravitas, which is essential for a series filled with high-stakes action. Wehrlen’s pacing is steady, which ensures that the action scenes are pulse-pounding while the quieter moments still carry emotional weight. His ability to switch between different characters, particularly the tough soldiers and the strategic leaders, is impressive. Each voice feels distinct, helping listeners immerse themselves in the military camaraderie and the personal struggles of the characters.

Entertaining but inconsistent (In Progress, minor spoilers)
I’m enjoying this series as a whole but there are a few immersion breaking moments but my current review deals with one in particular at this point. So if you’re this far into the series you’ll know who Shane is. In the previous books he’s been in he was portrayed as an older guy with a damaged past based off his interactions with other characters and how he was written plus being retired to the point he wasn’t in the period to be recalled to active duty but suddenly he’s young and a possible romantic rival to Brad. It just threw me out of my immersion. Once I finish I may come back and change this.
