New name new team but he is whipping his skills back in shape. He went to ground to hide and deal with his grief. He’s back now and ready to fight - a new brand of zombies.

It’s not pretty but it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this listen. Narration was great and the story really sets things up nicely for the continuation of the story. Can’t wait for the next book to come out on audio!

Nice start to an exciting series!

The Grave Diggers by Chris Fritschi is an amazing post- apocalyptic military thriller. Matthew Crow did a fantastic job with the narration. The Grave Diggers is the first book in the series The Grave Diggers. The story is thrilling, interesting, engaging, action packed, and adventurous. This story is a mix between World WarZ and Black Hawk Down. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. Highly recommend

EDIT: so I’m back here to say that I listened a bit more and for the 17$ a month credit this book isn’t worth it, I kept coming across these books on Facebook and it looked awesome but I was unaware that the author knew more about military tactics and such than he knows about firearms. And when you’re talking about firearms, details matter. The second thing I picked out that threw me out of the immersion was when the main character was in the armory talking about a “Colt Bushmaster M4” which if you know anything about M4’s that doesn’t exist. colt and bushmaster are separate companies who make similar guns but are definitely not the same. The next thing was the character said “oh they worked out the receiver so this thing won’t jam on you” while you can do some work on a receiver that may help you usually don’t, jams are caused by either the gas system or the recoil system in these weapons. I refuse to spend another credit on 4 hours of content especially when immersion is thrown out the window, regardless of how much I love the genre. Sorry but not sorry. Rant over

So not very far in I spotted an inconsistency, private oda(maybe spelled wrong) uses a dragunov SVD which if you are a gun nut you’d know is a semi automatic weapon. When he takes shot oda ejects the case of the round, which is not possible unless the gas system doesn’t work, and being a Russian weapon that doesn’t usually happen. Otherwise the story so far is good and gripping but my only other gripe is that it’s only 4 hours long

Inconsistency right out the gate
