About this listen

If you think all conservatives are old white dudes, think again.

Meet the Chicks on the Right (if you haven't already). Everyone loves to tell them they're wrong - everyone. Liberals say they're wrong because, well, they're conservative. Conservatives tell them they're wrong because they are not conservative enough, or because they're too conservative, or because they're the wrong kind of conservative. With all the blame flying around, it's easy to lose sight of one important thing: they think like you. And they are right.

It's right to revere the Constitution. It's right to value personal responsibility, economic liberty, and free enterprise. It's right to think that political correctness is crap and to call out the mainstream media for bias. And it's right to laugh at the so-called War on Women and to stand up for the unborn.

With humor and insight, Mock and Daisy, as the Chicks are known on their blog, explain why:

  • Capitalism is a good thing - success and the money that comes with it are nothing to be ashamed of
  • First Amendment protections extend to all Americans, not just those with whom we agree
  • Americans have a constitutional right to things that go pew-pew-pew
  • Skin color is irrelevant
  • It makes sense to be pro-life and pro-Plan B

The Chicks offer suggestions for a conservative makeover that will realign the GOP with the regular folk, who are frustrated with uptight and clueless politicians. But they also show why conservatism makes sense for everyone - especially those who love their country, their families, God, rock and roll, and a well-made cocktail (not necessarily in that order).

I've been a fan since before the radio show when all you had was Facebook and the website.
I'm a sahm, homeschooler of 2 boys, student myself (finishing a dual degree in education and special needs), I'm a church volunteer, and run our homeschool co-op with a dear friend. tbh this book has made me love you even more. I can't wait every morning to listen to your fb lives as I walk our dogs. Your telling of current events and opinions on today are so much easier to swallow with the cheer (Mock) and humor (Daisy) you provide. I'm so proud to be a follower. Keep chirpin' chicks you are the best!

classy, clever, and competent

The chicks are dishing out their common sense on today’s hot topics and though the book is a few years dated every word still applies to current issues. A great listen for any conservative ladies out there that are keeping it right for a reason.

New decade, Different President, Same common sense

Finally we have contemporary women who have the courage to criticize the left and the right for the polarizing, short-sighted, mean-spirited attitudes that have pervaded our government, political parties, and even our culture. If you are a reasonable moderate, who respects the opinions and rights of those who disagree with you, without the need to vilify them, then you will appreciate that Miriam and Amy Jo are willing to stand up publicly and speak mostly on your behalf.

These ladies are unifiers, not dividers, who ditch political correctness in favor of common sense and common ground.

The Chicks' Manifesto - Could be Yours Too

Clear, concise, and comical. This presentation of "we are on the right and this is why" offers insight on the conservative side of the aisle to everyone from the most politically savy, to the newbies just getting involved in politics, to those so deeply entrenched in their own views that hearing something even slightly different than their own assumptions is revelatory. With their snarky brand of humor, the Chicks on the Right openly discuss what conservatism is, how it desperately needs a makeover to get its core message across, how it has been hijacked and misrepresented, and how it needs to be tweaked. No matter which side of the political spectrum you are on, you will find this book enjoyable, informative, and insightful. Happy listening!

Clarity presented with irreverent humor.
