Suburban housewife Juliette Granger has been living a secret life...a life that's about to turn deadly for everyone she loves.

Fearing for her life after witnessing a gruesome murder, Juliette Granger whisks her two-year-old daughter Nora away in the dead of night and flees, planning to start a new life in a small, forgettable town under an alias. An hour into the escape, headlights flash behind her. A vehicle pulls alongside, and a masked man demands she stop the car. She refuses him, and a deadly game of cat and mouse begins.

Great suspense!

I wasn’t sure what to expect just from the name of the book and I was pleasantly surprised. Murder, a kidnapping and a very determined sister/aunt. The story is well written and flows perfectly. Great job by the narrator in keeping the pace of the book upbeat. Definitely recommend.

Definitely fooled me

The description of this book is extremely misleading, in my opinion. I’m a total suspense/thriller/horror junkie & admittedly, difficult to please!
Based on the summary/sample, this book had so much more potential, then it ultimately delivered!

The story starts off strong, Juliette is on an isolated highway in the middle of the night, terrified of being found before reaching her destination, she’s overly paranoid & on edge. Suddenly a pair of headlights come into view of her rear view mirror & appear to be approaching at a high rate of speed, soon enough, it is clear that this person is after her!
I don’t want to give any spoilers beyond what is already described in the summary but I was all in, up to this point, in my opinion, this was the perfect set up for a thrilling plot but the author took a much different path then I anticipated. Overall this was still good it just wasn’t great! The narrator, definitely deserves to be acknowledged, she was a perfect choice for this book!!

Interesting murder mystery

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This audiobook was okay. The storyline was decent , with an exciting ending. I’ll break this one down into different areas to be more specific about my 3 star rating.
Narration- the narration okay, often it felt like the narrator was just reading a script. Her voices were good, woman and man. The little girl voice was ok, but I think it’s hard to do a child’s voice as an adult. The sound was fair to poor. Often the volume would change and every so often a white noise sound effect would play, in odd times. Listening to headphones those changes were noticeable and annoying.
The story itself was ok. In summary it was a good premise, I just didn’t feel any connection to any of the characters. They were just one dimensional.
The length of the book was good, I was basically coming to the right conclusions by the end.
Overall, not a bad audiobook. Adjustments to sound quality would be helpful.
Recommended to Murder mystery fans and those who enjoy an unreliable narrator.
