Publisher's summary

Playboy, billionaire, and adventurer Jonathan Lyons lives life on the edge. When he hears that his mentor, Dr. Phineas DeWitt, had a secret journal that leads to a legendary artifact, Jonathan takes action. It stirs his blood, but it comes with a heady challenge: DeWitt's daughter Violet. She has what Jonathan needs. And she's not giving it up to the man who broke her heart.

Violet is Jonathan's weakness - he's still in love despite their volatile breakup a decade ago. But Violet's memories have a sharper edge. She has never forgiven him for abandoning her - or so she thought. When Jonathan's attentions turn seductive, she's in danger of falling for him all over again. And she can't help but wonder…. does he really want her, or just what she's hiding? Contains mature themes.

STORY OK ! NARRATION NOT !

I liked the story ok, but the narration was a bit difficult to get through. If I had not already been following this series and like Jessica Clare, I would not have struggled through. The male and female voices were exactly the same in some of the narration and too close to the same to enjoy the difference in others. The same narrator was used for all of the books but she just didn't work this time.

Not the best of the series

I absolutely loved the entire billionaire boys club series and couldn't wait to get my hands on this, book 5. Sadly it wasn't anywhere near as good as the others. The love scenes were way way way to drawn out and if I had to hear one more time how she liked to be ...... well, let's just say there is one thing she likes and she talks about it a lot. :P

I have a new author to look for. I'm a new fan

Book 5 story was interesting & was a good romance story. It added to the storyline be introducing Jonthan. The narrator wasn't bad as other reviews said. I'm glad I got the book. I enjoyed it.

Irritating

I enjoyed the earlier books in the series but couldn’t finish this one. I didn’t warm up to Violet and wanted to tell her to quit dithering and trust Jonathan over the father that disappointed her and lied to her! Jonathan came across as weak - I don’t need an alpha male in a romance book but a bit more backbone would be nice. The narrator is adequate - not my favorite but does a fairly good job.

SPOILED BY THE NARRATION.... WHICH SUCKED

Sometimes, when the narrator is so bad, it's hard to judge whether the book was good or not because it's so hard to get into the story. I've listened to the other four books in this series all narrated by JM but I truly don't know what happened to her while narrating this one coz she was awful, it was a painful listen and, in the end, I couldn't tell who was talking.

The story was ok, nothing special, lots of sex and dirty talking, Heroine was annoying as Hell and the actual plot wasn't bad.

Worth a credit? If I wasn't already into this series then I'd have to say no because of the sh*t narration! however I am following the series so I accept having to use a credit. There is one more bachelor billionaire left but sadly, before I use a credit on it, I'm going to have to listen to the Sample first and if she sounds like this then I won't bother with it - end of series or not.

Excellent book

I honestly didn’t think the author could top Audrey’s story. I loved it but this one was just as good. I love the story. Everyone in the series has its own twist but the story of love, loss, & sex is the same. Truly steamy & wonderful

Meh

Violet was “always right”. It was all about her. She assumed everything and didn’t verify nor did she look at things from the MMC perspective. She wanted him to do what she asked, then got mad because he did. I can’t stand wishy washy MFC’s, running away from controversy or feelings.

Men who pay for sex are not sexy.

I’ve been liking this series of books up until this one. Not sure what the author was thinking when she started off with the H deciding to not have sex with his regularly ordered hotel prostitute. Sure, he thought it was wrong to have sex with someone else when he had his lost love on the line again (wasn’t that thoughtful of him?), but crap... he’s been having sex with prostitutes.

Before I get started on all the possible (and probable) STIs the H now has, but paying for sex is contributing to a whole industry based on oppression, marginalization, and slavery. Later in the book he wants to have sex with the h without a condom and claims “I’m clean”. How could he possibly say that if he had been recently paying for sex????? It can take months to test positive for HIV.

No amount of longing and angst has helped in getting me to like this relationship. How could the h ever trust that he wouldn’t go back to hiring sex workers? (Doesn’t seem like she ever finds out though)I got about half way through this book when the H starts wanting to tie the h up for sex, he thinks if she agrees that will mean she trusts him again. It just means he is a controlling bastard.

Half the book to go and it’s just getting gross when he touches her. I can see why her father broke them up 10 years before. The more I listen the more I agree with her estranged father. The H is awful and he’s not looking any better as I go through the book. Trump was a young billionaire once too, can you imagine dating that?

If I could return this I would but it was in audible escape. I’ll never get back the time I wasted on this not sexy book.

I like the reader though, she’s always pretty good.
