About this listen

A spin-off from the number one Amazon best sellers A Not So Meet Cute and So Not Meant to Be and narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter, USA Today best-selling author Meghan Quinn brings you a heartwarming yet hilarious full-length novel on what life is like after the happily ever after.

Ryot Bisley is my husband. Yes, the former third baseman for the Chicago Rebels and absolute heartthrob of the Windy City. That Ryot Bisley.

The first time I ran into him, he was grumpy, a horrific host, and left me on his sofa with nothing but a nylon baseball flag to use as a blanket.

The second time, he reluctantly bought me dinner, stared at my chest the entire night, and still sported that permanent frown.

The third time.... Well, that was a game changer. His smile captured me, his teasing charmed me, and his touches excited me.

So when he was called up to the majors that didn’t stop us from knocking it out of the park and all the way down the aisle.

Eleven years later...I’d love to say we’re happy as ever, but the man who sent me dirty text messages every day is long gone and Mr. Frowny Face is back.

He’s so focused on trying to build a life after baseball that he doesn’t see the life we’ve already created together...so I make the hard decision and serve him divorce papers.

Problem is...my husband refuses to accept those papers. Instead, he has a new game plan that makes untying the knot of our marriage a little tricky. And just when I thought I wanted to be traded...he's slowly, tantalizingly roping me back in.

Can this marriage be saved?

Ryot and Myla have known each other for 11 years. Their story is told with some flashbacks from their first disastrous meeting until the present when Myla presents Ryot with divorce papers. He's stunned because he has no idea that their marriage isn't happy. He's retired from professional baseball and has uprooted them to California to start a new baseball podcast. Myla doesn't feel like she matters to Ryot anymore. Ryot feels like he has a chance to show Myla that he still loves her and wants her to be happy.
There are so many ups and downs in this book and brings out all kinds of feelings. Listening to Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter brings so much to the story by bringing Ryot and Myla to life.

A must read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I always know when I start a Meghan Quinn book that it is going to be 5 stars and this one was no exception. Untying the Knot delves into the life of a wife who wants to leave her marriage and a husband that will do anything to save it. I like that the story would go from present day to different times in their past so that you got glimpses in their life together and how they got to where they are. I got very frustrated with Myla several times but the more I learned about her past, the more her actions made sense. I love that Ryot was so patient with her and how much he loved her and didn’t want to lose her. This is definitely one of my favorite books by Meghan Quinn. And can we talk about the narration? Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter gave a 5-star performance 🙌🏻 and the spice level was off the charts 🥵

Great Story and Wonderful Narration

Untying The Knot is probably the most emotional Meghan Quinn book I have read, and I loved it.

Ryot is fantastic. He is the epitome of a book boyfriend, sensitive, a good communicator, sensitive to the needs of his partner, and a hot pro baseball player. I loved him so much. Myla is stubborn and snarky, and very entertaining. These two give us the typical laughs we’ve come to expect from Meghan Quinn but also some emotions as well.

Typically marriage in trouble is not a trope I reach for, but I liked how this was done. The story goes back and forth between past and present, allowing us the see Ryot and Myla’s relationship grow. I loved these two together, and I loved them rediscovering one another.

Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter narrated the book. First, let me say no one does sassy the way Stella Hunter does. She was perfect as Myla. And Jason Clark can narrate just about anything, and it will be great, but he did an excellent job capturing the emotion! Untying the Knot was a fantastic audiobook!

FMC was a bummer

Myla is just not super likeable for most of the book. I just wanted them to have like one conversation.

Wow!

This was a brutal listen on a deep, personal level. Having grown up with a mother very much like Myla's, I connected with her character in a way I never have in any other book. My heart absolutely shattered for her over and over again. I definitely ugly cried multiple times. I've been married almost 25 years and it hasn't always been easy. We've had some very dark periods and miraculously made it through them. Hearing Ryot's perspective and the hurt he endured, the way he stood up for and protected Myla, and the patience he demonstrated made me appreciate and understand what my own husband has gone through over the years. The message of a marriage being a partnership and how we carry the load for the other person when they can't resonated with me to the core. So, I thank Meghan for putting into words what so many couples have experienced and letting us know that we're not alone.

On the lighter side, I laughed so hard, to the point of tears, at some the shenanigans they both inflicted upon each other. Because who hasn't done some of those things when peeved with their significant other? Also, the witty banter between Ryot and Myla through the years had me in stitches. The explosive chemistry between them and their sex life were fire!!! They definitely understood the assignment in that area.

The book was amplified to the nth degree by the emotional and powerful performances of Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter. I highly recommend getting the audiobook for maximum enjoyment of this emotional, funny, spicy hot, beautiful story.

Meghan is a naughty girl

I. Love. Meghan. Quinn. Every book I say, "this one is my favorite." Well, Untying the Knot is my new favorite... until her next one releases. I don't know how she does it, but every [audio]book is better than the last. In this story, we get a Cane brothers and Brentwood boys crossover. Insert screaming here. I cried on chapter 1. Half way through I was cursing Meghan from the anxiety she was giving me, like Mushu from Mulan. Dishonor on you! Dishonor on your cow! Myla and Ryot's story was incredibly real and relatable. Which naturally had me cursing Meghan again like Tiffany Haddish from Girls Trip. I love you, but I hate you b!+ch! Oh, and Meghan with her smeggsy scenes - ooooo girl you dirty! I love it!! Keep it coming, sister. The end. This is my review. I still can't breathe. I'm still processing the emotions. #KazooForPresident
Now to review the narration. Insert more screaming. Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter are a dream team. You couldn't have cast people more suited to these roles. What a phenomenal and exemplary duet performance! They flowed so smoothly together, and with perfect timing. Their characterizations were spot on. I can't praise them enough for how they brought this book to life. This story was so emotional and complex. They portrayed it so beautifully. I highly recommend the audiobook version of this story.
Thank you to the author for gifting me this emotional and smeggsy romcom in exchange for an honest review.
