About this listen

The number one Wall Street Journal best seller featuring all new narration with bonus performance of the epilogue from Justin's POV. From New York Times best-selling author, Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel.

Sharing a summer house with a hot-as-hell roommate should be a dream come true, right? Not when it’s Justin…the only person I’d ever loved…who now hates me.

When my grandmother died and left me half of the house on Aquidneck Island, there was a catch: the other half would go to the boy she helped raise. The same boy who turned into the teenager whose heart I broke years ago.

The same teenager who’s now a man with a hard body and a hardass personality to match.

I hadn’t seen him in years, and now we’re living together because neither one of us is willing to give up the house.

The worst part? He didn’t come alone.

I’d soon realize there’s a thin line between love and hate. I could see through that smug smile. Beneath it all…the boy is still there. So is our connection. The problem is…now that I can’t have Justin, I’ve never wanted him more.

The tension was explosive

This is a wonderful story with well developed characters. The story builds the tension between the two characters throughout almost every interaction. And although there’s not a lot of sex scenes (I actually prefer this) there was a lot of angsty lust. This kept me up wanting to read more.

Beautiful and touching

A beautiful, touching and heartfelt story from childhood through adolescence, and adulthood, with ups and downs.

Loved it

In the beginning, the things Justin did and said really made me upset. He was extremely disrespectful and the reason why doesn’t justify his poor treatment. I’m glad he finally got it together. But I will say this, thinking of someone while u pleasure yourself is cheating. Telling someone else you love them or that you want to…. Is cheating. So while Justin might like to think he wasn’t cheating, he crossed the lines with Ameila emotionally long before he ended his relationship with Jade. Other than that, I love this boy and love Justin, Ameilia and B👌 Epilogue was amazing

Loved It!!

I knew by the name of this book that I would enjoy it. It had it all. It had the funny parts, the seggsy parts, the serious parts. You cannot go wrong with Andi Arndt and Jacob Morgan as narrators. They do not disappoint. I loved the story. It didn’t want this story to end!!

This one will keep you listening nonstop until the end. I didn't want to reach the end. So glad I chose this one. Fell in love with the characters right from the start.

Worth the credit

Very much so yes. It’s been awhile since a book made my heart stop. My heart stopped on the bus along with hers.

OVERALL it's a good book !

the first 6 or so chapters are very hard to get through because of the way the guy speaks down to his old friend
the female lead
it's so painful to listen to ...
if a man spoke to me like that there's no way I could crush on him like she's doing
the narrators are truly amazing though 😍😍
best part of the book

Sweet story nice easy listen.

There were times in the story where I thought Alice was very needy to the point of being annoying. I found myself rolling my eyes and finally skipped ahead where the story actually picked up. Not a bad read though. Amazing what the love of a child can do. Sweet.

Almost passed

Narration was great, Andi does all the narrating Jacob come in on epilogue.
I’ve really enjoyed other stories from this writer & was looking forward to this one. Until I read the reviews. They gave good stars but all this alcohol & pregnancy warnings made me think uh-oh? There is nothing wrong with this story. I really loved that our couple knew each other for years since preteens. They had a connection. They learned who each was as adults & about mistakes from not communicating. They have chemistry. No cheating & HEA on this. Give it a go.
