Publisher's summary

Train together. Grow in power together. Get justice.

Erik once lived a simple life as an herb grower in a forest. But it was never meant to last. Now, he and his betrothed, Ainsley have been training tirelessly to get revenge on the men who murdered his mother.

They have come far since those young, early days.

Cultivation of the body, and the spirit, of the power within, and how to fight as a team. That is what their teacher has drilled into them day in and day out for the last few years.

It's time for Erik and Ainsley to leave the safety of the forest and to begin their own journey, one that will take them across the realms on a path to justice.

Can they make it? Are they strong enough? Find out in the start of a new cultivation LitRPG series from Joshua Kern, best-selling author of The Game of Gods.

it's a very good start to new series

I enjoyed this book, progression is a little slower than some of the authors other books (GOG) but that's not a bad thing it looks like he's building a solid foundation for a good length series. hopefully there is follow throw on some of the developing plot lines introduced . I look forward to next book

this book does a lot of things differently than other books that have cultivation. The only other that is as foos as this for me recently is heavens laws.

Wow, such a great book. I need more!

Wow, Aethon publishing pulled out all the stops with this one... Such a great book. I loved Erik the MC and his best friend Ansley as they both worked on cultivating and growing qi enriched herbs. And in general building up their own qi. All of this in order to get revenge on the people responsible for Erik's mother's death! Yeah the story may have started slowly but I was instantly captivated by Erik, Ansley and her family.
And boy, I was so not ready for the book to end, and I'm not saying that the ending was bad more like it was perfect, because there's still so much story left, and I wanted more, needed more...
So grab the book and let Eric Jason Martin tell you Erik's story! And then you'll be in the same fix, needing more.

A boy and his fox friend.

The performance was great, and the story was better. it was a nice casual progression with some nice action thrown in. it is also nice that then end goal isn't world domination or saving, but a much more relatable one. I look forward to book 2.

It’s fun seeing a cultivation litrpg skip some of the boring beginning parts.

I enjoyed the plot, and that there were several intense moments during the story. I’m used to 1-2 moments per book. I can’t wait for book number 2 on audible

Fairly good story

I’m not gonna a lie, I ended up being more interested in the backstory, history, and information regarding the mother and aunt than the two main characters. The story is well written, overall, and the narrator does a great job switching between characters. I wish I could get away from idiot main characters, but alas this one is dumb too. I only put the 3/5 for story because it’s yet another story with a MC that sets out to do something with no actual plan, idea, or real ability to accomplish what they want.

it has a good story we with purpose leading the protagonists.

The use of a slingshot with animal tendons was painful to read. FYI slingshots need rubber, a sling would have been a great option, these are completely different weapons.
