About this listen

She’s the one girl he can’t have.

With his dimpled grin and devilish charm, firefighter Gavin Bailey is hot as a five-alarm fire and twice as dangerous. The youngest of five brothers, he’s the daredevil of the family. Until the unexpected strikes and he finds himself sidelined.

Skylar Stanley’s life didn’t just fall apart. It exploded. Spectacularly. Dropped by her publisher and her agent, and dumped by her boyfriend, she suddenly has no place to live and a career circling the drain. She comes home to the quirky, feuding small town she hasn’t lived in since kindergarten to pick up the pieces. And hopefully find her mojo.

Gavin would happily help Skylar get her groove back - in and out of the bedroom - except for one big problem. Her dad is Gavin’s boss, mentor, and the closest thing he’s ever had to a father.

As much as Gavin loves racing headlong into danger, Skylar is a risk of a different kind. One that he’s determined to avoid.

But the line between friends and lovers gets awfully blurry, and Gavin just might find the one thing that truly scares him.

Losing her.

Author’s note: The wild child of the Bailey clan meets his match in a shy writer who’s braver than she thinks. A sexy, feel-good story with pranks and shenanigans, Bailey-style brotherly love, a rescue kitten, plus delightfully dirty fantasies come true and a happily-ever-after that will make your heart burst with sunshine and rainbows.

The Bailey Brothers series is meant to be heard in order. Start with book one, Protecting You.

Fun and Entertaining

Gavin and Sky are perfect for each other as well as.the back story of Chief and Caroline re-connecting after 2 decades. The fact that both of their parents had been BFFs and they betted that their kids would be good together, add the mystery of the Havens, Baileys, and Montgomerys and you have an awesome story. Stephen and Savanah as narrators were a good match to the characters themselves.

Gavin and skylar

I loved their story, only thing is I didn’t feel that the narrator for Gavin matched what I felt he should have sounded like. But overall I loved their story and I was so excited for Gavin’s story!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Skylar has just been dumped by her boyfriend. Who also happened to be her literary agent. Double dumped. And he asked her to leave so his new girlfriend can move in. He has been cheating for over a year with another writer. A married one. Who do I call? Where will I go? So even though he isn't normally my first choice I called my dad, the Fire Chief of Tillicum.

Gavin was a firefighter along with his twin brothers, Logan and Levi. He and Levi are digging a fire line for a huge wild fire that is too close to town when he charges in to save another firefighter who was going over a cliff. Gavin was an adrenalin junky and joker. He was serious about nothing except firefighting and then everyone paid close attention since he had an uncanny sense for where a fire was heading. And this fire was turning and he needed to find safety. So he jumped back off the cliff to deploy a fire shelter.

Unbelievable, he just survived rescuing a fellow firefighter from a forest fire just to be hit by a car! But, when he sees the gorgeous woman who hit him he smiles. And continues to smile until he finds out she's the fire chief's daughter. Off limits to a player like him.

Skylar is dismayed! She arrives in town and hits a man stepping off the curb. Not just any man. A gorgeous man. And one of her dad's firefighters.

Skylar is afraid of everything and Gavin is afraid of nothing. Skylar is quiet and Gavin is totally not. Total opposites attract.

Of course I loved this book! He's a Bailey!!! I love this town with it's feud and all the quirky squirrels. I love how Gavin is a daredevil, but saves a kitten. I love Skylar and how she spaces out with story plots and the Gavin Effect.

You know you found a great author when you get invested in the town and all the characters. They are your family. And the Baileys are the family I definitely want to be a part of !!! ❤

Audiobook - Stephen Dexter and Savanah Peachwood are PERFECT in bringing Gavin and Skylar to life!!! What awesome narrators. They have Gavin and Skylar's personalities down pat. I read this book before listening to the audio and having them read to me made me even closer to the characters. Is it wrong that I want to check out other books narrated by Stephen Dexter just to hear his voice?

Something About Hearing the Words Spoken

This book in the Bailey Brothers series was a wee bit emotional because of Gavin's thoughts on his parents. But hearing it was quite emotional, Gavin is precious. So much like the otter, his grandmother compares him to, sweet, playful and devoted. There is no way you will not enjoy this production of this book. Both narrators did a fantastic job and brought the characters to life. You need this series in your life.

Such a fun small town, friends to lovers romance!

4.5 stars! Rushing In is the 4th book in the Bailey Brothers series and this was so good! This was such a fun small town, friends to lovers romance.

In the last 6 months Skylar’s life has kind of gone horribly, she was: dropped by her publisher, cheated on and dumped by her boyfriend, lost her literary agent (because that was her boyfriend too), lost her apartment (because it was also her boyfriend’s), and moved back to the small town she hasn’t lived in since kindergarten. Oh and then the day she arrives in town she hits a pedestrian with her car! Which just so happens to be firefighter Gavin Bailey, who works for her Tilikum fire chief dad!

Skylar is a suspense writer who is feeling uninspired and lacking any ideas. Her dad is worried about her being shy and new in town, and he happens to tell this to Gavin who takes it upon himself to be her new friend as he’s been feeling a bit aimless while injured and on leave. It was fun seeing Sky and Gavin become friends! She also starts thinking up scenes and feeling very inspired when he’s around, so she even asks if he’ll come over so she can write. And the fact that this man rescues a kitten!! Stoppp it was so cute! He calls the kitten “his baby” and refers to himself as her cat mom and it’s the cutest thing all the times he says he needs to get home to take care of his baby (aka Princess Squeaker” the kitten). I loved the tension between her divorced parents who start co-living again, how Gavin sets up a “murder cabin” for Sky, and just the small town Bailey-Haven family drama and mystery.

An entertaining and intriguing romance with such a perfect narration!

I knew Gavin Bailey’s story was going to be good but this was even better than my expectations! I mean, he meets Skylar when she hits him with her car right after he just survived a fire. The way it all happens will have you not only surprised but laughing because it’s such a Gavin thing to happen! “I flew out and rushed to where he lay on the pavement a few feet from my front bumper. He lifted his head and blinked at me. And then he did the strangest thing. He smiled.”

The story has quite the twist as Skylar is actually the fire chief’s daughter, aka Gavin’s boss. Thanks to Skylar hitting Gavin, he’s out of commission for a few weeks which turns into the perfect chance for him to help show her around town. This story is so enjoyable and has some surprising turns that make it an interesting and entertaining read! Plus he’s a hot firefighter which always makes a story worth reading!

“He’s hot as sin. There’s nothing wrong with imagining what it would be like to have him put out your fire.”

LOVE Stephen Dexter & Savannah Peachwood together!! Their performance as these two characters was an ideal and perfect casting! Stephen’s voice was exactly what I envisioned for Gavin and Savannah was so pleasing to listen to for Skylar! A phenomenal performance for this book that was so easy to listen to!

A perfect picture of opposites attract

Gavin & Skylar were so much more than I was expecting. Skylar’s shy, quiet, & reserved demeanor was a perfect combination for Gavin’s outgoing, loud, & extravagant self. They were the perfect balance. He brought her out of her shell & she helped him slow down & enjoy the little things. Like I said, a perfect picture of opposites attract.

I loved the voices picked for this book. Stephen Dexter & Savannah Peachwood did excellent

The adventures of Gav and Sky!

I love the friends-to-lovers trope, even better when they fight it by constantly defending how they’re “just friends.” I loved Gav and Sky’s push and pull and how well they balanced each other. As with most of Claire Kingsley’s series, I absolutely love the mystery going on the background with Eliza, John, and the Montgomery treasure. I can’t wait to see what’s unfolding!

Somehow, Claire Kingsley always manages to cast the exact right narrators for every book. I am a Stephen Dexter fangirl and knew when I first read the book that he had to voice Gavin. He can be sexy as sin, but also has a playful quality to his voice that makes him the perfect Gavin Bailey. If anyone is going to narrate a hot firefighter snuggling a kitten named Squeaker, it’s Stephen Dexter.

This is worth your audible credit! Don’t hesitate!

A thrilling Brollercoaster Ride!

Rushing In is book 4 in the Bailey Brothers series; and while it is a story of one couple, complete with their HEA, it needs to be read in order as the series has a mystery interwoven throughout.
Skylar, a successful suspense thriller writer, finds herself moving back into her hometown after a break-up with her boyfriend, who also happened to be her agent.
Gavin, the youngest Bailey brother, is living a life of adventure, often times indulging in extreme sports and daredevil activities. He is a firefighter with Tilikum Fire Department, and his boss, The Fire Chief is Skylar’s father.
The book opens with a blockbuster quality drama and fire rescue that gets your adrenalin pumping and plays out in your mind like a big screen thriller - and it only gets better from there.
As with all books by this author, her captivating writing style gets you immersed in the story and her characters come alive on the pages.
Skylar and Gavin become fast friends, as Gavin takes her under his wing to reintroduce her to Tilikum and helps her with a bit of a writers block she’s experiencing after her break-up.
Rushing In is jam packed with action, emotions, shenanigans, cuteness, love, danger and some heat - I absolutely adored it! There is the love story within the love story...GAHHH, the plot thickens with the town feud and the mystery of Eliza Bailey, Cara delivers some well deserved karma, Baileys come up with an awesome prank, Gavin finds and adopts a cute kitten - Princess Squeaker, and so much more!
It is a total Broller Coaster!!!
