helpful tips

Great audiobook that summarizes a myriad of key tips to improve your finances in the short-term and build wealth in the long-term. I enjoyed the focus on habit formation as the key to financial success, as I often get lost in the overwhelm of huge changes without truly realizing the impact small changes make over time. This audiobook provides a lot of great strategies specifically designed to help those who are struggling with their finances right now

I love this book!

I wish this book were around last year, but I am glad that it is here now because it lets me know I am on the right track. The chapters that resonate with me the most are three and four.

A few months ago, I cut out about six different subscriptions that saved me about $60 per month, which I am really happy about. And last year, I started my own company. I made sure to keep my day job, which was very stressful at first, but when I learned to manage my time between the two and not overwork myself, I was happy with the decision. And the author is so right about the benefits. Even if my own company were making enough money, I would still work a full-time job outside of that because of the cost of health benefits.

I will attempt one of the savings schemes from Chapter 5. I am leaning more towards the weekly one. We'll see how that works out.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to have a bit more discipline with their finances. The information in this audiobook is practical and easy to do, especially since the tips and strategies can be altered based on the individual's financial situation.

Great keys to financial independence!

Save More Than You Expect does exactly as intended, which is to help individuals save more annually than they ever have before. While this book gives great insights on mindset shifts, attitude changes, and behavioral changes, it's emphasis on how to reduce your spending truly shines through this book. It has helped me realize all the small expensive that I ignore and forget that really add up and become a big source of random expenses.

The key aspect that I took the biggest lesson from is that most people focus on making more money when they want to save more rather than reduce their overall spending by looking at fixed and variable expenses each month. Getting rich has two sides, making more money, but also keeping more money which is a problem I realized that I need to take head on.

This guide does a wonderful job of teaching you how to save with relatable examples that are sometimes uncomfortable but necessary in order to change your habits. I really enjoyed learning about the different types of saving plans which vary from daily, to weekly and monthly savings techniques.

Overall, an incredibly practical resource for reaching financial successa

Good Overall Plan!

I'm always open to new ways to save money. This book has some excellent suggestions, and I'm going to give the younger members in my family this guide so that they can start out with good saving habits. It's easy to overspend, but with planning and budgeting, it's also easy to retain what you've got. This is a guide to helping you retain what would normally be used, and it has some surprising ways to accomplish keeping more in your pocket. I recommend this for folks who are not even thinking like this but want to make their dollars stretch. This book can help them get started.

Easy to follow steps

As an adult, I have gone through many financial stages in my life. I have been so broke that we were choosing between gas and groceries, I have been at a point where I was financially stable and could pay my bills and I have had excess money that I unfortunately burned right through. What I like about this book is it is not just for people who are living paycheck to paycheck. Overall, this book is to help anyone learn some tips and tricks to save up $10k or more each year. The steps are super easy to follow and understand. The success of saving money all depends on how much you are able to commit to the steps.

This is seen in Chapter 4 with the Spending Diet. It's another way of saying budget but sometimes budget makes you feel like you are being super restrictive and comes with a bad feeling. I like this approach because it is up to you what steps you choose to take in reducing the excess from your spending. I also like that the author has an empathetic approach which makes it more relatable. Another way the book was relatable was the personal stories throughout the book.

I have already started to implement some of these ideas and I am working with my spouse so that we can make an agreement on our spending diet. We have different views on money and I want to ensure that we are both saving for the right reasons so that neither of us feels neglected or like we don't have any control over our money.
