About this listen

Romance novelist Clarice Adler has lost the inspiration to write ever since dumping her cheating boyfriend. How do you dream up a plot of two people falling in love when you've stopped believing in love yourself? But her deadline is looming, and her career hangs in the balance, so she decides to lock herself away on the secluded Scottish Isle of Skye to finish her manuscript. Upon meeting Derek McMillan there, it seems she's found her new muse, and the words start to flow out of her as if by magic. Clarice falls for him hard, despite knowing nothing about the man except that he's unavailable.

Derek McMillan has been managing his farm and renting out a few holiday cottages on his own for years now. He deals with the occasional tourist for some extra money but mostly keeps to himself. When he first lays eyes on the curvy beauty, Clarice, he immediately regrets accepting her booking. Lightning strikes, and as much as he tries to deny it, his inner bear knows that she's his mate. But he's a shifter, and she's a human, and the two can't ever mix, can they?

In this steamy paranormal romance novella, follow along as an impossible love blossoms between two people who couldn't be more different. One might say fate intended for them to meet, if you believe in that sort of thing, but they're both set on fighting their attraction with everything they've got. They're going to need another push to admit to themselves as well as each other what's going on....

Didn't expect a bear.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, especially anyone who likes shifters and paranormal.I thought this book was really interesting to listen too.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the ending the best.

What about Patrick Blackthorne’s performance did you like?

I thought Patrick Blackthorne did a great job, his voice was perfect, just needed a little Scottish accent and would have been even better. But I did love listening to his voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes I did listen to this book in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I really loved reading about Clarice and Derek, I loved how they met and her sweet innocents. Clarice needed to get away from the city and went away for a two-week seclusion so she can get some writing done. Derek is the farmer who takes care of the cabin that she stayed. He just knew there was something about her that just clicked. She was the one he has been waiting for. But wait bears only mate with bears, so how could he know that Clarice is the right one. I really loved the way the story flowed and I loved listening to this story. I wasn’t sure if I would like listening to an audible book like this but I had no problems getting into the story. This was a fun book to read. I did receive a copy of this audio book for an honest opinion and I well I have to say that I loved it.

Scottish Werebear

This was actually quite interesting. I liked that there was some intrigue throughout the story, and I'm eager to find out where Derek's brother fits in.

Quick, Easy Listen

Any additional comments?

Short, sweet and enjoyable.

Derek is a private Scottish werebear who lives a bachelor's life. Clarice Adler is a romance writer facing a deadline and needing to escape from her life for a while. Remote Scottish cabin is the perfect retreat. Derek knows Claire is his mate but for his own reasons resists. Although there is not really anything new or unusual to the story it is entertaining and enjoyable.
Just when the story is getting really good it ends. Leaving you wanting more. Such is the way with short stories.

Patrick Blackthorne did a pretty darn good job with the narration. He has a nice smooth sexy voice.

The story is cute and a good beginning of a series

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I just wish it was a little longer. I like my romance stories to be a little longer. I bought books 2 and 3 because I did enjoy the storyline and characters.

I do like the fact that Derek makes cakes and sweet goodies for Clarice and leaves it on her doorstep. Sweets from the bear is funny and I laughed. The guy in the local store thought it was funny too. Once Clarice figures out that Derek is not married....she was pissed off and I did not blame her.

There were some background characters that made the story fun. The narrator did a great job with the voices. Overall, this was good.
