About this listen

Sea Slayer Kelia Starling has grown up with one truth: Sea Shadows are vicious creatures that need to be eradicated. No exceptions. Not even for him.

The Society's sole purpose is to protect the general population from supernatural monsters, and Kelia's their top Slayer. But when her father is murdered and her handler insists it's suicide, she starts to question whether the Society really has her best interests at heart.

Now, to solve her father's death, Kelia must work with an unexpected ally: Drew Knight, an infamous Sea Shadow and the most beautiful creature Kelia upon whom has ever set eyes. A Sea Shadow who, without intending to, just may show her who the real enemy is...and it'll only cost her one unnamed favor to be collected at a future date.

But after her affiliation with Drew Knight is discovered, Kelia is forced to choose between what she's known since the beginning of her existence...or a dark, terrifying truth that puts her life at risk.

Contains mature themes.

Vampire pirates??

I really like the narrator so I started this series without checking to see if it was complete. Only the first 2 books out of 5 are on audible.
I did enjoy the story even though there isn’t much pirating going on. The main female character is only 17 and the spice level is low. There’s some flirting between the 2 main characters but that’s about all.

Sounds like the sea is the place to be

It took me about a chapter to get use to the narrative, but once I did I couldn’t put the book down. The story is filled with so many questions and still ends with even more that you cannot wait to read the next one.

Even if it's not your genre...

I don't like fantasy, sci-fi, or any other book where rules and worlds must be figured out and can be altered at a moment's notice. I downloaded this and started listening to it knowing it just wasn't my thing. Then, it was. The story captured me up and took me for an unexpected adventure and left me with some friends. I'm so glad this is part of a series because I didn't want to say good bye.

Loved this book

This book was fantastic. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the book.I applaud the authors on their originality of the plot and various twists throughout. The characters are really likeable and I always enjoy a relatively strong female main character, and then there's Angela Dawe THE BEST! I feel like this book sets the stage for a fantastic book #2.

Two authors one story in books, 1 and two

I love Angela Dawe narrations hence the purchase of this book because one of the authors had penned a good trilogy l own. A good editor would’ve said get this down to one book, leave out any repetitive thoughts or emotions and get on with the story already. I will now have to wait for book 2 to go on sale because I don’t want to use up a credit for these two authors.
Our hero is so yummy, but they did not include him that much in this novel maybe in the next one. But Miss Dawe makes him a dreamboat in this story or I would not move on the book to when it comes on sale. Where are my comments of help?
