About this listen

Sometimes the matchmaker finds a love of her own...

Lady Charlotte Sinclair has long given up her dreams of happily ever after. Years ago, a tragic accident claimed the life of her beloved fiancé, but somehow she found the strength to go on - as an independent woman with a secret double life that has earned her millions. Lately, however, she has begun to yearn for something more...

While setting out to play matchmaker for her mother, Lady Charlotte meets a rugged, handsome stranger who saves her from a thief in the street, but her heroic rescuer soon turns out to be more mysterious - and dangerously captivating -than any man she has ever known. Swept away by passion into a sizzling summer affair with a man who leads a double life of his own, she vows to live only for pleasure with no promises of tomorrow. But soon she must accept that one final night of ecstasy with an irresistible lover is never going to be enough...

Love Everlasting!

If you could sum up Seduced at Sunset in three words, what would they be?

Finding eternal love.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The very versatile Lady Charlotte who decides to move on with her life after years of mourning the loss of her fiance. She becomes a successful businesswoman (secretly), a matchmaker and believing she can never love again decides to take a lover to fulfill the desires of the flesh. She doesn't have to be concerned with her reputation now that she is considered a spinster

What about Rosalyn Landor’s performance did you like?

Everything, she is great!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

I preferred the other books in this series but "Seduced At Sunset" is a must read to conclude the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series.

Narrator’s ability to make each character come to life.

I loved the way Lady Charlotte made a decision for herself, against all societal rules and then pursue it fearlessly.

The natural progression of taking action on that decision moves along predictably but the challenges she faces are anything but.

Our leading man, Drake is a strong and well developed character who did not get lost in the family from prior books.

I truly enjoyed how Ms. Maclean incorporated Pembroke Palace characters into this installment. (Which is still compelling as a stand alone story.)

SWEET ROMANCE

This was a lovely story and was very romantic. I enjoyed the characters who had great charisma together. Oh that the conflicts in life cold be that easily resolved. But then, it was more of a fairytale romance anyway.

TOTALLY ENJOYED THIS SERIES

I enjoyed each and every one of these books. They were well written with good character development and likable characters. Plenty of love, steam, humor and surprise. The narrator was wonderful as she always is. I highly recommend this series. I wish and hope that perhaps there are more coming!!

An absolute delight

Julianne MacLean develops her characters with sharp wit, strong caring for others and passion. Taking some of the standard historical romance plots, Ms. MacLean brings life and energy and creativity to the HEAs. Drake Torrington, Charlotte Pembroke, Dowager Duchess Adrianne Pembroke and Dr. William Thomas were characters I appreciated and respected and hoped for their happiness throughout this novel. A joy to read. Also, Rosalyn Landor is magnificent again as the narrator.

Little Sister Sinclair is wild!

The Sinclair family is quite a scandalous bunch...and none more so than little sister Charlotte.

I wish the book was longer because with an hour and a half to go....all kinds of sparks started to fly. I mean so much could have been done with these last elements, but maybe the author was just ready to wrap the series up.

This book has very little plot other than being a book about a casual love affair....but the Pembroke series drags you in and you enjoy all the siblings stories. Charlotte and Drake do have a steamy love affair.

It was nice to hear about Adelaide and William as well....heartwarming addition to the story. The end of this book gets really interesting ....oh what a tangled web!

This book wraps up everything in a nice bow. ..but I wish there were more siblings to write about.

MacLean is great at character development and dialogue. I really love her style!

Landor is an awesome narrator!!

Listen to the whole series - you wont be disappointed!

My Favorite of the Series

This was my first experience with this author, and I am so thrilled to have discovered her. I loved all of the books in this series, but this was my absolute favorite. It was interesting throughout and all of the characters came to life in the entire series. There was just enough angst to keep it interesting without becoming tedious or tiresome. I cannot wait to read more of her books after I listen to this entire series again right away. It will be like spending time with old friends.

Nice ending

This was a sweet ending to the series. So nice Adelaide and her Dr.Thomas finally got together. Drake was pretty cool and I always liked Charlotte. Nice wrap up.
