About this listen

Jack Audley has been a highwayman.

A soldier. And he has always been a rogue. What he is not, and never wanted to be, is a peer of the realm, responsible for an ancient heritage and the livelihood of hundreds. But when he is recognized as the long-lost son of the House of Wyndham, his carefree life is over. And if his birth proves to be legitimate, then he will find himself with the one title he never wanted: Duke of Wyndham.

Grace Eversleigh has spent the last five years toiling as the companion to the dowager Duchess of Wyndham. It is a thankless job, with very little break from the routine...until Jack Audley lands in her life, all rakish smiles and debonair charm. He is not a man who takes no for an answer, and when she is in his arms, she's not a woman who wants to say no. But if he is the true duke, then he is the one man she can never have....

Beyond 5 Stars

The Lost Duke of Wyndham by Julia Quinn reminded me why so many Romances feel clichéd and trite. Not only is Quinn very funny, she makes tropes seem fresh. Rosalind Landor is an excellent narrator.
What joy to have a new audiobook this week.

Wonderful book

The book would be wonderful regardless of who narrates the story, but I swear Roslyn Landor is the cherry on top for me. She really brings a story to life and has you hanging on every word.

I love all the characters in this book (even the "grumpy" elderly Duchess)! It's well written & narrated! A true pleasure to listen to! Anxious for the next book!

Regency romance with a twist

First, Rosalyn Landor, the narrator of most of Julia Quinn’s books is astounding! She can switch from woman to man and dialect to dialect seamlessly. She can be haughty, backwater, Scottish, Irish, American English so cleanly, I have to remind myself the narration is only one person.
This book has romance, a really nasty dowager, a Duke who may or may not be the Duke and and interloper, yes it has them all in a tangled web of upperclass foolishness.

Lovely story, interesting characters

While I'm a huge fan of both Julia Quinn and Rosalyn Landor, this book wasn't one of their best. And it's because of the two main characters....and that dreadful Dower Duchess. Jack is a scamp...but didn't quite come across that way. And Grace...I think she has a great strength of character, but again the portrayal fell short. BUT.....I still liked the book and will listen again.

There Lost Duke of Wyndam

How did any of these people in this story put up with the Doeager Duchess?? She was awful with no redeeming qualities! I liked this story of Jack and Grace but I felt, in the beginning that Grace was such a tattletale and I could not see what Jack saw in her! Grace was always too worried about what others thought that she completely disregarded Jack! Even when he asked her to marry him she hemmed and hawed while her asked her over and over again - then she finally said yes. Maybe I'm just jealous of Grace because Jack stuck with her despite all these flaws that I see in her! Roslyn Landor , as always, is an excellent narrator! I thank author, Julia Quinn, for writing such a good story!
