About this listen

A Paranormal Women's Fiction with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!

Who says you can’t live the rock and roll life after 40?

You just need a lot more vitamins and a bigger bottle of aspirin.

Valerie Costa was pretty sure she was rocking her forties. She had an amazing coffee shop, two cool teenagers, and a new superpower that gave her insight into any random object she touched.

Okay, she wasn’t thrilled about that last one.

Ever since Val and her two best friends had driven their car off the edge and into Glimmer Lake the year before, Val has struggled with her new abilities. She’s not exactly sure she wants to be psychic, she could live without her newfound glove addiction, and honestly no one wants to know that much about their teenage sons.

But when Val’s ex-husband goes missing, and police show up at her door with questions she can’t answer, Val, Robin, and Monica are going to have to use their sudden psychic abilities to solve a mystery none of them saw coming.

Semi-Psychic Life is a standalone paranormal women’s fiction novel in the Glimmer Lake series by USA Today best seller, Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries and the Irin Chronicles.

This is the second book in the Glimmer Lake trilogy and I would not recommend it as a stand-alone, but otherwise, I really would recommend it! It is the story of Valerie Costa, single mom to two teenagers, living her life in Glimmer Lake, getting by as best as she can, until she has a car accident with her two best friends and emerges with the psychic ability to "read" objects by touching them. Now, she suddenly is wearing gloves all the time, because, do you really want to know that the creepy guy from your coffee shop is cheating on his wife or exactly what your teenage sons have been doing in their rooms? Yikes! And, there's the slight problem of her deadbeat ex going missing... And her flirtation with the hunky sheriff. Yes, this is a great follow-up to the first book in the series with a combo of clean romance, paranormal, and mystery, with over-forty protagonists! Loved it and am excited for the third in the series.

Even the cool mom has problems, or so I hear!

Love Val and Sully. Val is adjusting well to her powers, Josh is Josh, but looks like he may really be growing up a bit.

Enjoy this series more than any other 40+ books that are coming out quite a bit this year. Lots of magic, friendships, family times, some romance and a mystery to solve.

Ava Lucas does a fine job with her narrations, easy to recognize who’s speaking.

Can’t wait for Monica’s book. Hope that West is in her book.

As good as book one

Love Glimmer Lake. Book 2 gets an A+

Thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. Narrator did men’s voices pretty well. Liked the splash of hesitant romance with the mystery.

Light-hearted mystery romance with psychic single mom

Thoroughly enjoyed book 2, with wonderful characters, descriptions, action & scenes to keep the reader/ listener happily engaged in this 2nd book of the trilogy. A solid storyline to keep me motivated to hear about close friends, their families & how to work together to protect their town, with great wit, grit & interplay. - Again, wonderful detail to the landscape & scenery, loved the snow adventures & excitement, with the great sprinkles of fun paranormal powers. - Great narration throughout, with all the characters, well done voice actor & recording -

- A good read, once again, for men or ladies alike -

I enjoyed the 1st Glimmer Lake book so much & was afraid this 2nd one would disappoint. Definitely not!! This was just as good with entirely different storyline. Highly recommend! And Ava Lucas' narration rocks! Her intonation, emotions & speech are perfect for audiobooks!
