Great story and series

Absolutely love this series. Have enjoyed all the books so far. However book 8 was incredibly disappointing. Felt like I was starting a brand new series with new characters. The narrator, Maria McCann is a good narrator but terrible for this series. Melissa Moran was excellent. Her voice really was consistent with her characters. Maria, not so much. Not distinctive enough.

The story is enjoyable. To the author, great series! Would love to hear more but please change the narrator!

Change of narrator

I did not like how the narrator changed after having the same one for so long. It’s like each character is a different person now.

You need to listen to the entire series

I was given this book for free from audiobook boom and asked to leave an unbiased review for the author and narrator. This is definitely not a stand alone book and since I haven’t listened to books 1-7 I can’t really comment on it. The narrator has a pleasant voice, but as the majority of characters are male I think a male narrator would have been a better fit. My comments to Maria McCann would be keep your character names straight and pronounce them the same way throughout. Also work on your various character voice changes, I imagine its really hard with so many characters.

the change in voice is overwhelming at first

Every charter is entertaining except Raul. I swear Ive been annoyed with him since the first book. I hope this written is building up to something good with him because I'm so done. Jason and Phillip are where the story is. I wish I could spend a tale like this with so many turns. I want to know more about the Ancient of the crypts. Why we do man Ryu like that? And why is it that we went from Morgan being the only one with magic to magic feeling mundane? Magic has become like driving a car. Just wait until you are old enough. Still this was beautiful artwork.

I absolutely ❤this entire series 💯%❤ keep it up

Originally the previous titles had different narrator named Elizabeth Evans and she was excellent however she left my author with no way to continue recording the other titles and that caused the entire series to stay on hold for a very long time. However she was a great narrator. Finally the author found Melissa Moran who was extremely similar to the other and had to re record everything from the first title book 1 to the most recently recorded at that time. As of recently the author released a new one book 8 but it was recorded by a different narrator named Maria McCann we ho wasn't a bad narrator but was completely different from what the other narrators and author had sounded like for each characters and it's so sad that we no longer have the same sounding version of James, Elira, Victoria, and all the characters including the way she said certain things were not correct if you know the way the books have sounded previously and paid close attention like myself. Also, I found it so sad that the character chosen to die was just so sad that I wish my author would have picked another but she knows what she's doing and the story hg as a long way to go still and unfortunately we will lose great characters along the way.
I SINCERELY HOPE THAT THE AUTHOR RELEASES SOON THE REST OF THE SERIES AND KEEPS WRITING AND RECORDING. HOWEVER IF IT'S POSSIBLE TO GET Melissa Moran BACK THAT WOULD BE PERFECT!
AT LEAST HAVE THE NARRATOR NAMED HERE FOR THIS TITLE DO MORE THAN JUST SCAN OVER A PREVIOUS RECORDING BUT ACTUALLY LISTEN TO IT ENTIRELY AND PERFECT EACH CHARACTERS PRONOUCED VOICES AND TO LISTEN TO HOW SHE RECORDED HER SELF HERE AND THE MISTAKES M ADE ON OTHER WORDS MISPRONOUNCED
AND TO TAKE THE SERIES MORE SERIOUSLY BECAUSE SHE IS PAID FOR HER RECORDING AND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. SHE'S GOOD IN GENERAL JUST. NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE SERIES WITH LISTENERS LIKE MYSELF WHO ARE HIGHLY INVESTED IN THE WHOLE SERIES SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING 💯. THAT BEING SAID I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND SERIES
