Publisher's summary

When a young woman turns up dead along the Mississippi River, rising-star Detective Kate Rosetti quickly realizes it’s the work of a notorious cross-country serial killer.

To complicate matters, Kate’s troublemaking sister turns up out of the blue in need of a place to live, a strikingly handsome FBI agent appears at the crime scene, convinced this case belongs to him, and a certain British billionaire is a little too interested in the murder…and Kate.

As she begins to close in on the killer, the investigation takes a turn for the personal. It’s one riddle after the next, and if Kate can’t sort out the murderer’s identity before his next kill, she’ll be up next on the autopsy table.

Likeable New Character

New female detective. Nice mix of characters. Good story line although the bad guy was not well-introduced early on. I want to try the next in the series, though, because the people surrounding the antagonist were interesting and intriguing

Enjoyed the banter between characters.

Enjoyed listening to this one. Would recommend if you like strong women characters. Reminds me of James Patterson’s murder club series.

I totally adored this book.

The writing and audio were both well-done. Each character is distinctive as well as damaged and loveable. I enjoyed tension between the love interests and their respect for each other's expertise, though they're not really working together. This can lead to major conflict and super heat. I can't wait to hear the next book. Lynda Rees, Award-Winning Mystery Author lyndareesauthor.com Get The Exclusive Scoop: https://preview.mailerlite.com/t1a6j6

Tiresome

I really enjoyed the narration performance. If that had been poor, it would have made it easy to quit the story, As the story was very tiresome and maudlin. the subtle "romance" diminished Kate's character significantly and took away from the main storyline. I won't move on to the next books because I can't because I am already tired of the main character.

Great start to a new series

Gina LaManna has written a story that is the first installment in her new series, Detective Kate Rosetti mysteries. The characters are well developed and believable. I look forward to the next one.

I wasn't impressed with this audiobook

This story is a cross between James Patterson's Women's Murder Club and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, or it tries to be. You have the ME, blogger, and tech guru (instead of an attorney) (WMC). You have the federal agent and the billionaire playboy (Joe Morelli and Ranger). The story doesn't really grab you, though. The narrator does little to help the story, as she really doesn't change her tone. I don't know if I will give this author another shot.
