Publisher's summary

When Jim ran out of that farmhouse in Forgotten World, not only did he leave the promise of safety behind, but he was sure he was about to meet a horrible end.

Amira has lived most of her life surrounded by silence, and this new world has dangers lurking around every corner that could mean the end for her.

When two survivors, never meant to meet, find each other in the middle of an apocalypse, it will mean the difference between life and death. With silence as their constant companion and the threat of death always hanging over their heads, Jim and Amira will learn not only what it means to trust another person, but how to let go of the past so they can survive this new world of violence.

Excellent Narration and series.

Overall, this has been an excellent series, there have been slow points in the series, but I like a good Zombie story, as many books and series as I’ve read I never get tired of the standard formula. Mary L Kate, writes good stories, and good dialogue.
the story is about Jim, who was John’s partner on the cleanup crew in Hope Springs. And Amira, who is deaf, and had been left on her own, while her father searched for supplies.
Jim is seriously injured, probably suffering from sepsis and accidentally stumbles into Amira’s garage, and she is able to save him .
They make their way to the new Atlanta, trying to find the rest of the people that Jim was with when they left Hope Springs to bring Angus to Atlanta.
While I loved the character of Amira, I found Jim to be a little annoying at times, but overall a good addition to the series. Now on to, sadly, the last in this series, Angus‘s story to get.

Good book

It has its place in the series and is a good side story. Book 1 thru 3 have raided the bar and set a high expectation.

I know it is fiction but...

As the romance picked up the action slowed down. Romance is OK with me but for this one it was a bit over the top sometimes. Also why I know it is a zombie book some of the scenarios and how things played out was just so unrealistic. I normally enjoy her books but this one was kind of meheew.
