About this listen

Silver Master is the fifth novel in Jayne Castle's futuristic Ghost Hunter series. It is a romantic-suspense with a strong paranormal twist set on the planet Harmony.

Professional matchmaker Celinda Ingram is a psychically gifted woman with a problem. She is in desperate need of a bodyguard who can double as a date for her sister's wedding. Davis Oakes, a member of the mysterious Ghost Hunter's Guild, is a security expert with a most unusual paranormal talent. But Davis doesn't trust matchmakers and Celinda doesn't trust anyone connected to the Guild. Sparks fly immediately. Danger is closing in fast, however, and this pair has no choice but to work together to survive.

narrator sounds like a 80 yr old with a headcold who's loosing her teeth. she also sounds like she's reading to 3rd graders. it's a damn shame such a good book is ruined by such a terrible narrator. I love these books but they really need to do a better job finding narrators...this is aweful.

terrible narrator.

Loved the series but struggled to get past chapter 5 with this narrator. Listen to the sample before you buy it.

Very hard to listen to this narrator

I love this author and series but was caught by the re-release. Also, I did not appreciate this narrator. I’m new to audible and will be more careful next time.

Love the author, not so much the narrator

Narrator is awful. will keep because it fits in the series and she not narrating the other books.

narrator is horrid

The narrator was so bad I did not buy book 5 because it was the same woman. I gave her 2 stars because she at least made an effort to make a man's voice different. Not much of an effort, but there it was.

The story itself was fine and I love dust bunnies and this whole series. I just read the book for number 5.

Narrator terrible

Davis Oakes of Oakes Security is looking to retrieve an artifact for Mercer Wyatt and the Cadence City Guild. Celinda Ingram is a Matrimonial Consultant who realizes instantly that Davis is her perfect match. But there’s a minor roadblock in Araminta running off with the artifact when Celinda tries to give it to Davis. Davis feels compelled to ask Celinda to dinner and she is compelled to accept. When Davis comes to pick her up, he introduces Celinda to his own Dust Bunny companion, Max. Of course, someone is after the artifact and Davis protects her, and goes with Celinda to Frequency City to attend her sister’s wedding. And Davis protects her from Benson Landry, a Guild council member and parapsychopath, and the reason she left that city. Araminta and Max are adorable and the Dust Bunnies totally add to the series. It’s enjoyable to follow how Celinda and Davis find their way to trusting each other, foil the bad guys, and convince Wyatt to let the medical doctors test the 2 artifacts for medical benefits.
This recording by Merlington is so very much better quality than book 3 Ghost Hunter.

double the dust bunnies

Narrator sounded like she was 120. Couldn’t tell Celenda from Davis. Please don’t use her again

Awful narrator

The story seems like it's right in line with the other titles in this series, but honestly I only got to half way through chapter 3. The narrator is absolutely awful. She sounds like she's talking through a mouth full of cotton, and has a very irritating inflection to her voice. She does not move from character to character well at all. I would return this title if I could. It was a waste of money, and I will not be purchasing any other books in this series or by this author.

This narrator is TERRIBLE

Ugh. I got scammed again. I try to be very careful not to fall for these re-released old titles but this pre-order got me. I have an old version in my library from ages ago. Cute story but nothing new.

Not new! 2007
