About this listen

A man of action...

Fearless. Loyal. Brilliant. Ruthless. Bold words are always used to describe English war hero Captain Chase Eversea, but another word unfortunately plays a role in every Eversea's destiny: trouble. And trouble for Chase arrives in the form of a mysterious message summoning him to a London rendezvous...where he encounters the memory of his most wicked indiscretion in the flesh: Rosalind March - the only woman he could never forget.

A woman of passion...

Five years ago, the reckless, charming beauty craved the formidable Captain's attention. But now, Rosalind is a coolly self-possessed woman, and desire is the last thing on her mind: Her sister has mysteriously disappeared, and she needs Chase's help to find her. But as their search through London's darkest corners re-ignites long-smoldering passion and memories of old battles, Chase and Rosalind are challenged to surrender: to the depths of a wicked desire, and to the possibility of love.

Contains mature themes.

Awesome 2nd-6th in series

Narration was great. Justine Eyre has been a slow acquired taste for me as I really hated her voice in the past but with time and finding a good speed to listen to her with ( usually .95x) I've come to actually really love her.

This review is for the 2nd through 6th in series. Highly enjoyed all these and recommended!

Good not great

I liked the characters, their history, love journey and chemistry very much. The storyline was not my style. What could have been intriguing was treated a bit silly. I’ll still continue with this series - really enjoying JAL writing.

Pretty good

It was fine. I have been reading them in order and this was the weakest of the three I’ve read so far. It dragged a bit and somehow Chase didn’t excite me. Colin was tremendously more exciting as was Madeline and Miles was more exciting as was Cynthia. This was just okay and definitely dragged after the first half. Not sure what should have been different but it was slow going. The first one with Colin and Madeline was so fantastic maybe it only could go down from there. I will spend a credit for the next one though. These are pretty good given what is out there for medium steamy regency romance with a bit of mystery. I wonder if one could just skip this one and go on to the next. I almost did based on reading the blurb but then thought what the heck. I wish I wasn’t spending credits on these but audible borrowing is pretty limited.

The most ridiculous plot but fun

A romance somehow concurrent with a mystery involving a missing girls, puppets, and museums. The most unbelievable in the pennyroyal green series yet but charming nonetheless.
