About this listen

She would be his perfect revenge....

All of the young ladies whispered about the Duke of Mondvale in hushed tones, their eyes following his tall, dark figure with barely disguised lust. For the newly-ostracized Lady Constance Thornton, he is magnetic and altogether desirable. Irresistibly so. Since her reputation is already ruined in London society, why shouldn't she be impudent and dance with the scandalous "Lord of Sin"?

Little does she know of his plans.

The beautiful and innocent Lady Constance is no mere plaything for Lucan Wynwood. She will be his revenge. By ruining her, he will have his vengeance against her brother. Except that the Lady Constance is full of surprises... and now she could well be the ruin of him.

Near perfect

I loved that the author created the building of love. As hardened as the duke is I can see how intrigued he was by her and how they opened up to one another. So many books have that instant love which is annoying and unbelievable but the author did a great job of having dialogue between them and moments of love blossoming. Sure, she sounded a little too desperate a time or two but it was refreshing to have a young lady know what she wanted and pursued it. Too often you have head strong ladies that act stupid making me want to slap them. Constance knew what she wanted and she was open about. The actual love scene came at the very end of the book. It would’ve been nice to have more sex scenes but there were a couple other scenes that were steamy just not the whole thing. The narrator did a great job with the dukes voice! This was an almost perfect book and I recommend it.

Excellent!

I cannot reassure you enough that Charlotte is not a whiner! I disagree strongly with the reviewer who was so upset with her. I think perhaps the tone of the narrator which was high and almost irritating when speaking for the heroine did during one scene sound whiny but it was not written as a whine. She was actually a strong character, who dealt well with the flawed soul of the hero. This was a tale of revenge, misconceptions, and love.... it is exceptionally well written.

The performance of the narrator is excellent but the tone she gave the heroines speech did leave something to be desired at times.

Heat Factor? Geez, off the charts!

Creditworthy? Oh yessssss.......

Good storyline, but...

I liked the storyline, but the Duke starts off like he’s a jaded rake badass with a score to settle but develops quickly into a bit of a whiny man-boy. Given he’s supposed to be this sinful but hard working Duke who still helps run a club of sin, I expected him to be more hardened. I was disappointed with the characters. I also did not like the reader for the book which probably added to my disappointment in the Duke. He didn’t sound Ducal or like a unscrupulous rake. The story could’ve definitely been better developed with the same conclusion.

Couldn’t finish because of the narrator

What was the narrator thinking making the main heroine’s voice sound so terrible! It’s like she’s doing a wicked step sister voice. Couldn’t even finish it.

Needs better voice for main woman

Narrator speaks like a little girl. Makes the romance aspect of the story a little weird

Narrator

Please get another one to do the your male characters.

Lord of sinner sounds cheap and lurid. you don't need the voice to quiver to convey emotion! Ugh
The story line is fine.

Narration

Constance's voice (heroine) was irritating, too high pitched. I don't know what narrator was going for, because her regular tone was good.

A bad man finds love

While well written, i couldn’t get past the basic premise that Lucan intentionally ruined an innocent woman’s reputation in revenge for her brother’s sins. Then there was the super slow burn, with (admittedly hot) mere hankypanky until a single consummation at the very end. Finally, the narration of the male voices was unsexy, preventing me from feeling the chemistry.

I did like that Constance had a spine and mostly went for the direct approach. Unfortunately, her willingness to communicate stopped with Lucan; she failed at multiple points to communicate with her family, even when overhearing important things.
