Publisher's summary

A Warhammer Age of Sigmar Audiobook

Beyond the mountain range of the Adamantine Chain, Aqshy lies destroyed. Noxious fires light up the horizon, death skitters in the smoke, and a wasteland of horror threatens the entire realm. Humanity has but a single hope: the Reclusians of the Ruination Chamber. These Stormcast Eternals, though few in number, are the only force capable of enduring the perils of this dark era, for their souls are already broken.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Experience a desperate race against time as Stormcast Eternals of the Ruination Chamber find themselves fighting not only the scheming and skittering Skaven, but also the cruel realities of their own shattered souls, and inevitable destinies.

THE STORY

Deep in the heart of the Skaven apocalypse, where survival lies on a knife edge, ratmen and Reclusians alike race towards a prize that will turn the tide of war – a lost Stormcast brother. Should the enemy uncover his forbidden knowledge, Aqshy will surely fall, so, for the chosen of Sigmar, failure is not an option.

The journey is long and full of strife, and for the mortal acolytes who accompany the Reclusians – guardians of their memories and faith – it may be the last steps they take. Yet together, they are hope when hope is dying, a truth they all must seize upon. For without it, they are victims of nightmares and shadow, ushering in this new Hour of Ruin.

I need more from this Author

I have nothing negative to say about this book, by far the best AOS book in my opinion.

Great performance mid story

Top things about the book:
-Very grimdark, very brutal
-new skaven clan
-skaven pirates
-great "we have won but at what cost" vibes
Worst things:
-Literally 0 skaven pov
-stormcasts for the most part are flavorless and generic through 2/3 of the book
-please stop repeating that "hope is a lie" like 5x times per chapter
-ending felt rushed somehow after a book that felt too long

kind of dumb

The concept of the main character's roll in a Stormcast army is silly and odd.
"you help this guy remember his life, so go out there into battle with him"
"do I get combat training or even weapon?"
"LOL no..." *Yeats little girl into Skaven* "Hope when hope is lost or something Idfk."

I genuinely lost interest in the story a little over half way. the writer dose their best to make the characters interesting but it just falls short.

The new lore about the ruination chamber and the Skaven!

The narrator performance was great! No confusion about who is talking. The new Stormcast from the Ruination Chamber are so interesting. If you bought the new models from the Skaventide box you will get lore about every new model. I really love the role the Memorians. The Skaven in this book are just total monsters. They are so cunning and dangerous. A great enemy for the Heroes of the Realms. Plenty of combat! Great characters! This book is definitely on my AOS favorites list.

Not the Best

The story was everywhere. The characters kept you going from one location to the next. it just didn't plot very well and could have used more time to bake with the editor

Lost on the ending.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The narrator was great and the story was good through most of it. Without spoiling too much the ending just seemed to fall apart. The epic vibe just wasn't there(For Sevora). It felt more like a "one up battle" as apposed to a final boss fight. I get why some things happen but I feel like a more fitting end would have been a quicker affair. All the major part but just done in a punchy quick manor.
