Story
In The Summer Book Tove Jansson distills the essence of the summer - its sunlight and storms - into 22 crystalline vignettes. This brief novel tells the story of Sophia, a six-year-old girl awakening to existence, and Sophia's grandmother, nearing the end of hers, as they spend the summer on a tiny unspoiled island in the Gulf of Finland. The grandmother is unsentimental and wise, if a little cranky; Sophia is impetuous and volatile, but she tends to her grandmother with the care of a new parent.

Peaceful and relaxing
Each episode has Richard telling a short story in that beautiful, calm, soothing voice of his that helps the mind relax as the nature sounds of rain or the crackling of a fire gently lull you to sleep.
With a varying work schedule full of traveling, I often find it hard to unwind and relax if I'm returning home late. I've tried different nature sounds and white noise to help me sleep, but not much works. I have to admit, this Sleep Sound with Richard works. I can set the timer for one episode, turn the volume down, turn out the lights, and I'm asleep before the episode is complete.
Definitely worth the listen.

It’s relaxing and pleasing to the Senses
I Liked it, it didn’t have heavy Piano pieces which are Loud to me and Overpowering while meditating, relaxing or trying to go to Sleep.
This is a mix of Light Melodic tones with Natural Sounds, such as the Ocean.
I prefer Singing Bowls but those are mostly used in Tibet, and Eastern Europe onwards.

Zzzzzz
I can’t tell you much about the stories, because I’m asleep in less than 10 minutes. Perfect.

Heaven
It literally doesn’t matter what he is saying, I would blissfully listen to Richard Armitage read anything, even if I didn’t speak English and understand a word he was saying. His voice is just pure, velvety comfort. This and his narration of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell are my go-to’s when my anxious brain can’t sleep. My only criticism for this series is that I wish he was just speaking the whole time, rather than having some sections of soothing white noise. My brain gently startles back to awareness when a new episode starts and the narration comes back in. Give me 8 hours of Richard Armitage reading the Oxford English Dictionary and I have no doubt I’d get the best sleep of my life!

Nice voice , irritating background
The story and voice was nice. The beginning of some chapters sounded like car horns. Some of the sounds woke me up. Another sounded like bugs.
