About this listen
Small towns are notorious for secrets...but what if you bring your secrets with you?
Amy Adams arrives in Northpoint, Wisconsin, on a greyhound bus. Small towns are well-known for not taking to strangers, but this stranger decides to stay. Amy has a look around, and to her, it "feels" like home. She rents a cabin in the woods outside of town and proceeds to look for a place to open a store.
Renting to own from one of the locals, she soon finds herself making friends and making waves. She won't discuss where she is from and has nothing to say about her past. People are extremely curious. This Southern belle has them talking.
Abby Shipman, the chief of police in this neck of the woods, is intrigued by the decidedly mysterious and straight redheaded whirlwind that has blown into town. It's strange that she won't talk about her past, and she is certainly uncomfortable around Abby...or is it cops, in general?

Story
Coming out is hard. Coming out in the public eye is even harder. People think they own a piece of you, your work, and your life, they feel they have the right to judge you. You lose not only friends but fans and ultimately, possibly, your career...or your life. Cassie Summers is a Southern rock star; she came out so that she could feel true to herself. Her family, including her band and those important to her support her, but there are others that feel she betrayed them, they have revenge on their minds.

Story
For solitary novelist Jorie Price, true love seems as fictional as the shape-shifting creatures she writes about in her paranormal romances. Griffin Westmore doesn't believe in love, either, but she's one of those not-so-fictional shape-shifters who secretly live among humans. When Jorie's writing gets uncomfortably close to the truth, Griffin is sent to investigate and, if necessary, kill the author to protect the secrets of her kind. But when Griffin unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Jorie, her world is turned upside down.

There was trouble in Haven, Arizona, and Ranger Sam O'Ballivan was determined to sort it all out. He arrived posing as the new schoolteacher, and his first order of business was to bring the rough ranchers' children under control. To that end, he called on Maddie Chancelor, the local postmistress, whose younger brother was in firm need of discipline. Sam wasn't sure what to expect - but it was definitely not this graceful woman whose prim, proper stance was so at odds with the fire in her eyes.

Story
Tim Cotton has been a police officer for more than 30 years. The writer in him has always been drawn to the stories of the people he has met along the way. Dealing with the standard issue ne’er-do-wells as a patrol officer, homicide detective, polygraph examiner, and later as the lieutenant in charge of the criminal investigation division certainly provides an interesting backdrop - but more often he writes about the regular folks he encounters, people who need his help, or those who just want to share a joke or even a sad story.

Story
It's been said that all great literature boils down to one of two stories—a man takes a journey, or a stranger comes to town. While mystery writers have been successfully using both approaches for generations, there's something undeniably alluring in the nature of a stranger: the uninvited guest, the unacquainted neighbor, the fish out of water. In the newest collection of stories by the Mystery Writers of America, each author weaves a fresh tale surrounding the eerie feeling that comes when a stranger enters our midst, featuring stories by prolific mystery writers.

It ok
I like the story, however, I’m not a fan of the narrator, who was monotone. I couldn’t stand to listen to it consistently but pause a day here and there. someone else would’ve made this story a 5!

Not great
Very little dialogue. It’s a boring telling of somebody staring over. But a cabin, get wood. A lot of of shopping action, buying sprees? I don’t get it. Story line looked good , but author botched it!
