Huck
Two places I never thought I'd be: a church and my little brother's funeral.
I was the one who was supposed to die first. Not Hayes.
He hadn't chosen my path. I took lives but Hayes had wanted to save souls.
Yet here I was drinking from a flask, around people that f-----g hated me, unable to take my eyes off the fiancé he'd left behind. My brother may have wanted to be a minister but he was going to marry a woman with the body of a porn star.

Trinity
It had taken me a while but I'd finally gotten on my feet after my fiancé's unexpected death. The first day on my new house cleaning job where I would make enough money to pay for college ended with a gag in my mouth, my hands tied behind my back and a gun to my head. Lucky for me I was taken alive while the rest of the household was shot and killed. My savior? My fiancé's older brother happened to be one of the men who'd murdered my new employer.

I'm now stuck in a house with three men who refuse to let me leave until it's safe. Huck hates me because he believes I lied to his brother. He humiliates me every chance he gets. But his cruelty doesn't affect me. I was beaten down long before I met Huck Kingston.

It's when I'm forced to pretend I belong to Huck in order to stay safe inside his world that the darkness in my soul finds an outlet I didn't know I needed.

Not a typical mafia story

This was my 1st story by this author, and it was not a typical mafia story...but in a good way. Trinity and Huck were MCs that naturally came with their own baggage, but I enjoyed the tension between the two and having this grumpy MMC struggle to recognize his feelings while denying them at the same time (I also love a good "who did this to you/hurt you trope). The narrators did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, helping me connect and care for each of them and begging for them to get their HEA!

For fans of Yellowstone and Sons of Anarchy you will love this book. Smoke Bomb can be read/listened as a standalone. This is Huck and Trinity's story. Huck finds himself at church and at his little brother's funeral. Two places he never thought he would be at. There Huck meets Trinity, his brother's fiancee.

On the first day of Trinity's new house cleaning job, she gets kidnapped. The rest of the household was shot and killed. Her savior is her fiance's older brother, who also happened to kill her new employer. Now she's under the roof of three men. Huck hates Trinity, but can't help the attraction he has for her.

I listened to a gifted copy of the audiobook and it's fantastic! Performed in duet narration by Marie Hawkins and Gideon Frost. Both were perfectly casted. They were phenomenal!! Marie is a new to me narrator. I love her voice! The trauma that Trinity went through was so heartbreaking. I thought Marie showed Trinity's apprehensions and timidness very well. Gideon was truly amazing!! His range of voices was exceptional. He had a different voice for every male character. Gideon's portrayal of Huck was spot on. He showcased Huck's possessiveness and protective nature.

I loved the sizzling chemistry between Huck and Trinity. Huck was an interesting character. He did things he wasn't proud of and Trinity had demons she was battling with daily. However together they were made for eachother. Loved Huck's possessiveness over Trinity. In her entire life besides Hayes no one looked out for her. Overall, really enjoyed this one!

Phenomenal forced proximity romance

I received this as an alc from Spark Fly Studios and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was a phenomenal forced proximity romance. The story was to me a perfect example of how something that would clearly be red flags in reality can be totally okay in fiction. Huck was a walking red flag but I loved him. He was so unapologetic in his ways. Trinity was a real survivor and even when she felt the most broken, she would work through it. The storyline was so entertaining and I absolutely loved it.

Audiobook review: The story was narrated in duet style and it is not my favorite style of narration but both narrators did an exceptional job portraying the characters and I did thoroughly enjoy it.

Love the series

I have become a huge follower of this author. She writes in a manor that is easy to follow but she is also able to throw in some twists you don’t see coming. This series is no different and I highly recommend.

Wow what a spicy, amazing story told!

I was so happy that SmokeBomb is finally out on Audible. I've been patiently waiting for the Smoke Series to become available. The 2 voices that did this book were amazing! I loved that these voices even spoke when it was in the other pov during their parts. Example: during Trinity's POV, when Huck would speak, it was done in the male's voice. Not the female doing the male's voice like it most books. I think that made this audio book special and different.

Tropes:
- Mafia Romance
- Kidnapping
- Brothers ex Fiance
- Spicy AF
- Forced Proximity
- Found Family
- Bullying

Abbi Glines wrote an amazing book. SmokeBomb is the 3rd book in this series. This whole series is amazing though. I would definitely recommend reading or listening to this. Abbi is definitely one of my favorite authors. This is seriously a series I can read over and over and never tire from. I can't wait for the rest of this series to come out on audio.

Trinity had had a hard life. She had never been treated right by anyone, especially her family. The only person who had ever treated her like she wasn't evil was her fiance Hayes Kingston. But just like everything else in her life, that went bad to. Hayes died and left her alone with her stepmother. She didn't even know Hayes had a brother named Huck, but she met him at the funeral.

Trinity never knew she would see him Huck again until 6 months later when she was hired to clean a house. Next thing she knows she had a gun being held to her head and Huck saving her life, yet watching him kill someone else. Huck may have saved her that day, but he also took her with him thinking she could be a plant. She had no idea who Huck was until Hayes funeral and now he thinks that she used Hayes to get to him. She's confused, but she won't cry about it. Huck had no clue what she's been through in life. This was nothing.

Huck is part of the southern mafia. He is the future bosses best friend. He was tire up when he found out his brother died He was even surprised that his brother kicked down a smoke bomb of a fiance. They hadn't seen each other in a while, and grew apart in life. Huck always knew he wanted to be part of the family. Hayes wanted something different, To be a preacher.

Once Huck see Trinity in the biggest drug dealers house cleaning it, he couldn't have her killed. Hayes wouldn't have wanted that. So he takes her back to his goat with the rest of the guys. Once he had her background checked, Huck knew Hayes knew nothing about the girl he was going to marry. She was a slut who was using him. So he puts her to work coming and cleaning their home. It's not save for her out there now, but he's not going to treat her like the angel she looks like. No matter how much he wants her.

Huck was so mean to Trinity in this book. I actually couldn't stand Huck for how he tasted her. I know in his mind he had his reasons, but it still made me hurt for Trinity. Once he learned about her life, I'm so happy he did what he did. He pulled his head out of his butt, but it took him a while. When these two got together, it was hot and spicy 🔥🥵 wow! This is must read read book.

Book 3: Trjnity and Huck

Trinity’s upbringing was tragic. She had an absentee father, a wicked stepmother and a perverted stepbrother. She survived but not without lingering pain and grief. The things she went through are heartbreaking. She is starved for love and a family. Things were looking up. She was engaged to a wonderful man and he cares. Fate is not done with her. Her fiancée dies, she is kidnapped by the mafia and her life takes a turn. Tragedy turns into a second chance at happiness.

Hick is cold blooded and dangerous. The death of his brother set him back. The only blood family her loved died too young. He meets Trinity at the funeral but doesn’t expect to see her again. When she inadvertently gets in the way during a job, they are thrown together again. His reaction to the situation was harsh at first. It quickly turned possessive and things heated up quickly.

The story is fast paced, angsty, tragic but ends in a beautiful romance. Huck would do and did do anything and everything to keep his woman safe. He brought death to those who tried to hurt her. Their passion and love jumped off the pages.

The narrators did a great job. They did a great job with the characters personalities. Trinity’s “episodes” their shared grief and emotions were easily captured. The storyline was easy to follow.

I love the book, the readers were chefs kiss!

The readers voices matched so amazingly to the ones in my head when reading. I like that when Huck is speaking and Trinity talked to him, it's really Trinity's voice. Not Huck speaking like a girl.
Amazing story and amazing reading. LOVE

Lots of steam

Audiobook review: Narrated by Marie Hawkins and Gideon Frost

First off, this is a darker romance with some sensitive content so be sure to check any warnings before reading. I did enjoy the flow of the story. We do have an extremely alpha MMC in Huck and a meek FMC in Trinity. I usually like the FMCs to be a bit tougher, but Trinity's past is represented well within the story, so we get a good explanation for her insecurities and reasoning for her timidness and inexperience. The backstory is heartbreaking, both Trinity with her stepmother/brother and Huck and his own brother, who just so happens to be Trinity's fiancé that passed away. Lots of heat in this one with a healthy dose of a storyline. Very enjoyable story on its own but the audio just added so much to the experience. Marie Hawkins was a great choice to highlight the innocence of Trinity. Gideon Frost on the flip side plays the alpha possessive MMC perfectly. The fact that it's narrated in duet style is the icing on the cake.

Phenomenal

PHENOMENAL. Everything about this story was great the character, the back story, the tension, the suspense, the spice. Loved it all. Huck and Trinity both come from horrible past one more than the other. They find away to maneuver around each other and their drama they never dealt with. Trinity is trying to deal with past and the loss of a loved one. Huck is doing his best to be clear headed and not get involved. These two are great together the tension✔️ banter✔️ spice ✔️✔️. The narrator were amazing Gideon’s voice as Huck is everything the way you felt his frustration and dominance in his voice 🫠. Marie gave Trinity a very sweet vulnerability that make you heart cry a little. Great audio.
