About this listen

For Will Innis and his daughter, Devlin, the loss was catastrophic. Every day for the past five years, they wonder where she is, if she is - Will's wife, Devlin's mother - because Rachael Innis vanished one night during an electrical storm on a lonely desert highway, and suspected of her death, Will took his daughter and fled.

Now, Will and Devlin live under different names in another town, having carved out a new life for themselves as they struggle to maintain some semblance of a family.

When, one night, a beautiful, hard-edged FBI agent appears on their doorstep, they fear the worst. But she hasn't come to arrest Will. "I know you're innocent," she tells him, "because Rachael wasn't the first...or the last."

Desperate for answers, Will and Devlin embark on a terrifying journey that spans 4,000 miles from the desert southwest to the wilds of Alaska, heading unaware into the heart of a nightmare, because the truth is infinitely worse than they ever imagined.

Definitely Kept My Attention

What made the experience of listening to Snowbound the most enjoyable?

Interesting story that kept my attention trying to figure out where this was all headed. Also enjoyed the narrator.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Probably the female 'FBI' agent. I enjoyed trying to figure her out.

Which character – as performed by Jeffrey Kafer – was your favorite?

The daughter.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really. It's a quick listen and I never found myself wandering off while listening to it. However, no real strong emotions.

An ok story that became somewhat muddled.

The book began well enough. But midway through, when we learn what is going on, it became somewhat muddled and it lost me. The ending was good, I would have liked more in the 2nd and 3rd acts. Some of the character choices are very questionable.

Good Twist at the End

After reading Dark Matter and then Recursion I wanted to read more of Blake Crouch’s books. His earlier books are more thriller then science fiction so far though Wayward Pines was kind of in between. This book, Snowbound was a thriller. The first several hours were a build up and ok, but the final few hours was very suspenseful and good so in the end it was worth the listen. Great twist at the end I thought. Narrator did a great job also.

Blake does it again! Another great book.

another great book by Blake Crouch. although nowhere near as good as the pines series. at times there were a lot of oh come on moments with the characters but other than that it's a great read for a 7-hour story.

Heart thumping, but dark.

I struggled with the story as times, dark but good characters. Made me anxious.

Some problems in story but gripping anyway

The storyline was a little hard to swallow but I literally didn't put the 'book' down until it was over. A lot of 'aww come on now" moments when people bounced back from horrific assaults to their bodies, or ventured into life threatening situations w no apparent fear but overall a fun gripping read.
