About this listen

It only took one text.

One nickname flashing across my screen to drag me back into his tangled web.

That one text sent me back to my hometown.

A town full of heartache, secrets, and abandonment.

Straight into the arms of the man I’ve always known was meant to be mine.

Our story wasn’t over…

The man who was standing in front of me now was a far cry from the boy I once knew.

That boy who disappeared in the dead of night a decade earlier, leaving me with nothing but vague whispers of basic training, concerns of war, and the gut-wrenching feeling of betrayal.

I had always believed in fate.

Believed in what most would call a twin flame; soul tied…

Any word that explained loving someone so intensely that nothing could ever break that connection to them.

Jensen was all those things and more.

I’d be damned if I missed our one last chance for someday.

Even if all the promises falling from his lips might be from a soulmate who was never meant to be.

The narrators and the realism of military ptsd

The narrators did an amazing job, they both had me hooked. The story was amazing. It crushed my soul, but a good book.

Such a beautifully, heartbreaking story

This is not the HEA you’re looking for. I am broken, still wiping away tears. Oh how I loved these characters and longed for them to get their HEA but it just wasn’t to be.

With all my love, and loathing...

Beautifully written from start to finish. So easy to fall in love with each character as the chapters show more and more of their personalities.

January's letter hit me like a ton of bricks. I know this feeling and to hear Serena get to this point was heartbreaking. To love and loathe someone at the same time is an emotion you have to experience to understand.

The narrators truly embodied these characters, bringing them all to life in the most incredible way. They paint the picture so perfectly. Bravo to them!

I admit, I'm a sucker for sad songs, sad movies, and now sad books. I feel my feelings deeply and love a good soulful cry. Life isn't always a fairytale and we all face heartache and challenges. Shedding light on mental illness and addiction is not easy, but this book handles it all with grace and compassion.

Highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a genuine, heartfelt love story.

A romantic tragedy

This is a romantic tragedy. Do not go in expecting an HEA. Prepare for devastation! This covers topics of severe military PTSD, addiction and depression. The voice actors did an incredible job delivering the emotion. Highly recommend!

“I want to die in our kiss, suffocate within her, and mould ourselves into one. I want to leave the best parts of me within her and let the rest vanish.”

“I know this man is—and always will be—my undoing.”

WRECKED…this book wrecked me, SO GOOD!

Wow… where do I even begin?
First of all, the narrators for this audiobook did a phenomenal job!

This book took me on a ride of emotions that I was not prepared for!!
When you love someone so much that you break your own heart AND theirs, just to know they’ll live a better life without you.. my gosh. I’m still trying to regain my composure.
I’ve never read a book before that displays mental illness and PTSD, so that you can see how people truly suffer in their own heads. This book showed that. It showed that, and so much more.

My favorite quote from the book was, “It is always you. It will always BE you. You own the best parts of me.”

I will be highly recommending this book any chance I get!!
