About this listen

Meet the Space Punks—the only ones crazy enough to challenge the Pentad’s supreme power... And meet the REAL-LIFE Space Punks in this sensational production! The audiobook features eleven insanely talented actors, known from audio and TV, and an original soundtrack. Buckle up for a unique listening experience!

David wakes up in a high-security prison on the forsaken Martian moon Deimos with no memory of his past. A chance encounter with Aztec, a deadly purple-haired cyborg, propels him into a daring jailbreak. She brings him on board a mysterious warship manned by the most notorious and badass crew of the galaxy—the Space Punks. One hundred years ago AI waged a devastating war against its human creators. Humanity won, but barely and at a horrible price. Ever since, the solar system has been strictly controlled by the Pentad, a ruthless coalition of megacorporations. As David tries to regain his memory, he finds himself fighting battles between mechs, cyborgs, robots and super-soldiers alongside his new brothers and sisters-in-arms. But is there more to the Space Punks than meets the eye? Everyone on board seems to have their own secret agenda. Including their inscrutable leader, known only as the “Duchess.” Needless to say, the Pentad sends out their best people to get rid of this unruly menace. And in the shadows lurks the seemingly defeated enemy, a threat to all humankind, ready to strike again…

Space Punks is a sexy, adrenaline-fueled ride for fans of Firefly and Guardians of the Galaxy!

Space Punks, Ancient Secrets, and a Wild Ride!

What a creative thrill ride! I sooooo wanted to binge listen to the entire story, but I forced myself to string it out as a reward for getting work done. This story is so much fun!

Anna Mocikat's Space Punks on audiobook is a non-stop space adventure filled with cyborgs, aliens, ancient artifacts, AI, bizarre relationships, galactic intrigue, and a crew of unforgettable characters.

The story starts you off with an oddly naive, but relatable main character and throws you headfirst into a whirlwind of excitement. While the deeper scientific explanations might not be the main focus, the story dives into the fascinating concepts of transhumanism and its potential impact on a galactic scale. The author masterfully introduces us to a rich and imaginative universe filled with intriguing characters, each with their own hidden agendas, leveraging raw dialog. It's clear there's so much potential for further exploration in this world!

The narration with voice actors truly elevates the audiobook experience. One delightful surprise is the incredible variety in voices and accents! Each character sounds distinct and unique, mirroring the diverse crew you encounter on the spaceship. This attention to detail truly brings the characters to life and deepens your connection to the story.

If you're looking for an action-packed, lighthearted audiobook that will keep you guessing until the very end, then Space Punks is a perfect choice! It's a fantastic space opera for listeners who enjoy a fun, fast-paced adventure with a touch of mystery and physical intimacy! That very human element is interwoven too. Not gratuitous in my opinion, but it is definitely there.

Space Punks is a pure pleasure ride for listeners who want to escape into a world of thrilling space adventures. The story unfolds at a breakneck pace, keeping you hooked with its unique cast of characters and a universe brimming with potential.

Bonus! Author Anna Mocikat is incredibly engaged with fans! She is active on social media, so if you're looking to connect with the creator behind this amazing world and get in early on what promises to be a fantastic journey, then this audiobook is even more worth your time.

Oh, and the end will make you want the next installment really really bad! You've been warned!

Cringy Dialogue, Unoriginal But Not Entirely Unentertaining

I almost turned it off, but the mystery of the characters held me by the thinnest string. I’m curious to know about the characters, so that’s something, and the story elements are up my alley (and the reason I took a chance on it), but I can’t count the number of times I winced at the schlocky dialogue. No lie, many lines would be the worst from a bad YA action movie. Initially I thought I might be overly sensitive, but some of the most egregious dialogue came at the end when I knew what I’d signed up for, and it was so bad, part of me wondered if it was intentionally bad. Totally speculation and probably wrong, but maybe the author is a non-native English speaker, and doesn’t realize how simple and tired the expressions are (butterfly effect?!!), in which case I commend her. Better than I could have written, but that’s small praise indeed.

Standout sci fi series start!

Space Punks plunges us into a future work humanity has spread into the stars, battled our own technology, and upgraded our bodies in the process. A fast-paced adventure, we join the newest recruit on the Nephilim, the ship run by a bunch of self proclaimed, space punks, brought by what seems to be happenstance, and a few coincidences, taking him from a subterranean prison out into a galaxy he’s never seen. This is a great Start to a series with an excellent cast bringing all of it to life! Can’t wait to see where it goes.

Who am I?

A man gets thrown into a prison, not knowing who he is, and he meets a woman in the shower and gets pulled into an escape and a great adventure. I really liked the Nightingale, he is funny and kick ass.

Fantastic Cast

I'm so not used to there being more than one voice for an audiobook. I've never heard something like this before. What a joy to have all these characters brought to life. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

The team!

I loved the individuality of the characters. I felt a connection with each one due to their personable presence. The overall concept kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. My favorite character was Captain Jack!

Cyborg counter culture and space piracy.

First off, the audiobook had a full cast and sound effects. Highly recommend the audiobook as it gives the listener the most immersive experience.

Set in a post war future where the planets and moons in the solar system have been colonised and cybernetic body mod is common. The story starts in a prison on the Martian moon Deimos. The main character, David meets a cyborg who breaks him out. He then joins her gang of space outlaws who transport illegal stuff for shady people around the solar system.
The full cast of colourful characters were all weird, quirky and badass in their own way.
They had a great dynamic and felt real.
The action sequences were gripping, fast paced and don’t pull their punches.
Overall, this was fun, glamorous and easy to get lost in. Looking forward to the sequel.
Would recommend this to fans of The Expanse, Cyberpunk 2077 and maybe Firefly.

First Cast Narration Disappointing

I had high hopes for a cast narration. but unfortunately it was evident that the narration was pieced together. each voice actor is reading their lines separately in an emotional vacuum. Story was good. But you only need to establish characters are physically perfect and sexually attracted to each once or twice. Not Every Scene. Use that room for plot.

a story written by a sci-fi fan

A story written by a fan of sci-fi who takes numerous inspiration from 80's sci-fi, mass effect, and of course cyberpunk stories (if space punks wasn't a clear enough indicator). The best character, and recorder (for that matter), was the Duchess, it is a shame she doesn't show up until chapter 4 or 5.
