About this listen

In the explosive conclusion to the Dark Nest trilogy, Luke Skywalker summons the heroes of the New Jedi Order from near and far, as the Star Wars galaxy teeters on the edge of eternal war. Yet even the combined powers of the formidable Jedi may not be enough to vanquish the deadly perils confronting them.

The Chiss-Killik border war is threatening to engulf the entire galaxy and raising the awful specter of Killiks sweeping across space to absorb all living creatures into a single hive mind. The only hope for peace lies with the Jedi, who must not only end the bloodshed between two fierce enemies but also combat the insidious evil spread by the elusive Dark Nest and its unseen queen.

Leia's newly acquired Jedi skills will be put to the ultimate test in the coming life-and-death battle. As for Luke, he will have to prove, in a lightning display of Force strength and swordplay, that he is beyond a doubt the greatest Jedi Master in the galaxy.

good stuff

This trilogy along with others like this would make for great animation series similar to Clone Wars.

Volume 3 of the extended universe

3rd volume of this Arc. I found it lackluster but it did get the job done. But that's for you to decide if you agree with my opinion or not I think you should be okay. Check it out when you can.

Abridged

Yet another abridged Star Wars book that is extremely disappointing and hard to follow as a result of so much source material being removed. Buy the books instead.

The absolute worst abridgement job ever

Well I read these books when they came out and they are the only StarWars audiobooks made in the last 7 years I don't own. I cannot believe the abridgement decisions made on this. It is almost impossible to follow along. This is the first time I feel cheated by StarWars audiobooks. All that said the narrator did a great job as always. All the bad parts of this come out of the sections removed. At one point luke was lost while Han and Leia were looking for him. All of a sudden they are all having a conversation. People think because it says StarWars they can do anything they want and people will pay. I will never buy another abridged StarWars novel, I knew there was a reason I only listened to unabridged

Infested Jedi?

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The story was a bell curve, it started slow built in the middle and then ran down hill at the end. If was worth listening to though.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Bugs with guns... hummmm. It could go either way.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes the narration was good a kept the past and tension in the story.

Could you see Star Wars being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Oh, I can't wait for some of the Star Wars books to be made into movies. I don't know it a TV series will work over time,... but if GL is willing to try it so am I. The Thrawn Trilogy is a must for the Movies.

The was wroste book of the series!

The narration and performance of this book was horrible! I forced myself to listen only to conclude the series. For the listed reasons, I will not recommend the trilogy to anyone. I wish I could get a refund.

Burnt out on bugs even in abridged version.

It’s Star Wars so for that alone it’s worth a listen. And Jonathan Davis is superb just like always. But the story isn’t the best. It’s the most frustrating as far character behavior, and the first two were pretty frustrating. Main antagonist could have been done so much better. Plenty of potential but ended up being a letdown. And personally, just another in a long line of books that make me wish Luke Skywalker wasn’t the star in Star Wars. He’s a sidekick at best and should be a random force sensitive character someone runs into on moisture farm once or twice in the saga.
