Publisher's summary

Luke Skywalker wanted to unify the Jedi order and bring peace to the universe. Instead his wife Mara lies dead at the hands of an unknown assassin, his wayward nephew Jacen has seized control of the Galactic Alliance, and the galaxy has exploded in all-out civil war.

With Luke consumed by grief, Jacen Solo works quickly to consolidate his power and jumpstart his plan to take over the Jedi. Convinced he's the only one who can save the galaxy, Jacen will do whatever it takes, even ambush his own parents.

With the Rebel confederacy driving deep into the Core to attack Coruscant and the Jedi under siege, Luke must reassert his position. Only he can lead the Jedi through this crisis, but it means solving the toughest problem Luke's ever faced. Does he fight alongside his nephew Jacen, a tyrant who's illegally taken over the GA, or does he join the rebels to smash the Galactic Alliance he helped create?

Always good

Great sound, music and narration, I thought it felt a little light on story development considering the gigantic plot moves in the story, but then this is just another 'episode'...

Another 'edge of your seat' chapter

Yet another great storyline, as well as a great production. The LOF series has met and exceeded my temptations...leaving me yet again waiting for the next installment.

Marc Thompson brings Inferno to life!

Excellent storyline, and a most excellent performance by my favorite narrator. This book really dives into the meat of the Legacy of the Force series storylines. It can almost stand alone as it's own book were it not for the delicious loose ends left at the end of this novel, that leaves you with a powerful need to find out what happens next to our heroes and villains.

Action. Pulse Pounding, Gut Wrenching, Constant Action

After Jacen Solo killed his aunt in the previous novel, his ascendency to the mantle of Sith Lord was assured. Inferno takes the newly anointed Darth Caedus to new levels, as a deeply personal story gives fleeting hope for redemption, and quickly snuffs it out with heinous genocide.

The story begins with Ben Skywalker having already figured out the identity of his mother's killer, and carries him through an arc of investigation and vengeance that leads to his eventual capture by his mad cousin. This, in turn, is followed by a vicious and climactic confrontation between Jedi Master and Sith Lord that separates the Jedi from the Galactic Alliance they helped build.

This is one of those books you just don't want to put down. As Legacy of the Force goes, Inferno is among the best in the series, telling a heartbreaking story of good versus evil, and showcasing the depths of paranoia and selfishness to which powerful men sink.

A great series!

Very well done for a Star Wars audiobook. Even though it is abridged, the 6 hour run-time leaves enough material to make this audiobook entertaining. That said, you can still notice gaps where, I assume, material was cut out for the abridgement. This can be annoying after a while. I won't beat around the bush, I loathe any abridgement and I would encourage people to complain to the publisher so that they will begin releasing unabridged versions of these books. Other than that, this book was excellent. Marc Thompson is one of the most talented narrators that I have heard. It is a pleasure to listen to him. The different character voices that he assumes throughout the book are executed flawlessly and I had to keep reminding myself that it was the same person speaking. The writing, sound production, and music were all top notch. I would give this 5 stars if not for the abridgement.

One last thing, stay away from any of the star wars audiobooks that are less than 6 hours in length. They are so butchered by the abridgements, that they are not worth your time or money. Quite a few of these are narrated by Anthony Heald and he is just plain awful. I found this out the hard way. Just remember, Anthony Heald = extremely poor narration. Jonathan Davis = Extremely good narration. Marc Thompson = Outstanding narration.

One of the best star wars stories

This book is now one of my favorite of all the star wars stories. Great writing. The narration and production value is also quite exceptional.
