Publisher's summary

More people need to step up. When we take responsibility for making change wherever we can, not only does it make our companies, communities, and the world better, but we are happier and more successful and have more fulfilling relationships. But all too often, we stop ourselves before we start. The problems seem too daunting, it’s another department’s responsibility, other people are the issue and we can’t change them, and so on. And so nothing ever changes. With his distinctive mix of inspiring storytelling and practical advice, John Izzo compassionately demolishes the most typical excuses, helps us see a way through common roadblocks, and enables anyone, anywhere, anytime to effectively bring about positive change by simply stepping up. Through numerous examples, Izzo shows that when one person steps up, it creates a wave of energy that encourages others to join in. Rather than regaling us with stories of extraordinary people and extraordinary deeds, Izzo tells us about regular people who see problems and decide - sometimes hesitantly, often uncertainly - to take that first step. Like them, each one of us can claim our power to change the world. From the bestselling author of The Five Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die.

I put it into practice

I don't know if I was tired of being a victim, I Tony know if this was my time to shine, but this book have me mental courage to stand up for myself. I made a verbal change with myself and others keeping them know I'm not being a victim anymore. I didn't expect this book to do this to me but it did.

This book is worth a listen. Clean narration and motivating. A bit repetitive but it helps its teachings stick well. Give it a shot!

Highly recommended - a life-changing message!

This book was amazing! And answers the question on why you. I have been able to overcome that voice that says to hold back or why do it, it won’t matter anyway. I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to improve their lives and the lives of others!

Excellent reading!

This was quite the inspirational/aspirational book! It is a must-read for leaders at all levels. I found myself replaying portions so I could make notes in my journal to remind me of the tidbits of wisdom I wanted to memorialize.

A Surprising Gem

I typically hate self help books so it took several people recommending this book to get me to read it. the central message of "stepping up " is compelling while also being reasonable. the author avoids over the top claims and has great examples of average people who did extraordinary things with limited resources.
