About this listen

NAACP nominee and USA Today best-selling author Beverly Jenkins returns to the town of Henry Adams with a story of family, friendship, love, and second chances.

In Henry Adams, Kansas, you can’t start over without stirring things up....

Many a good woman has had to leave a no-good man, but how many of them took a back-seat to his 600-lb. hog? On her own for the first time, Genevieve Gibbs is ecstatic, even if certain people preferred the doormat version of Ms. Gibbs. Finding someone who appreciates the “new” her has only just hit Gen’s to-do list when T. C. Barbour appears in her life.

A tiny Kansas town is a far cry from his native Oakland, California, but it’s just the change T. C. needs. While helping his divorced nephew acclimate to single fatherhood, T. C. lands a gig driving a limo for the most powerful woman in Henry Adams. It’s a great way to meet people - and one in particular has already made the job worthwhile. All it takes is a short trip from the airport for Genevieve to snag T. C.’s attention for good.

But it wouldn’t be Henry Adams without adding more drama to the mix. When Gen’s ex Riley returns with his hog in tow, it sets off a chain of events that can ruin everything - unless the residents pull together once again to save the day.

Great Storytelling

I love this series. It reminds me of what a good heartwarming book should be. With more happy moments than tragedies. And not all the explicit sex dialogue!

Warmed my heart!

Another hit from The Blessings series that warmed my heart! Listening to these stories helps to tune out all the chaos that happens in reality and provides a pleasant escape. I’m always left wanting to hear more about the residents of Henry Adams :)

Why Can't this be a real place and story

this book and the other previous books have truly made me stop and smell the roses. I wish I could live in this town above the new stores they are building. I yearn for a community of love second chances forgiveness healing and that life is not lost on what has had or did happen but In its rich soil of hope and seeds of kindness restoration grows. Henry Adam's the people of this town has stirred a rebirth that is still developing. Thank you to the author and the narrator for this space of peace.

Storyline

Story was realistic. You could see the characters as real people cheering done on in, not liking others hoping they got what was coming to them. I’m loving the series.

Another Great Story

This series just gets better and better! I'm loving the characters, the town, and the life lessons. I'm unfortunately getting to the last book in this series and this will be a hard act to follow. Exciting to hear how all will end, but again this will be bitter-sweet. A huge shout out to the author and narrators, you did an awesome job bringing the characters alive.

Loved it!

I love this series! I am a big fan of Beverly Jenkins. Her writing is so captivating, almost musical. I am a lover of History and culture, and her books have encouraged that love through the years. Henry Adams is a place that I enjoy visiting with each new book. I also find this narrator's voice to be very soothing. Some of the characters are a bit off, but she has such a lovely voice I can ignore it. Great job!
