About this listen

Needing to leave Sterling Orphan House at 18, Rose Sterling is to take toddler, Katie Hudson, to her father who works on the King Ranch in New Mexico Territory. She thought her biggest adventure would be getting there on the wagon train, but she was wrong.

Will Hudson can’t believe he has a daughter. His wife had left him for a gambler, and he’d been trying to cope ever since. He doesn’t make the best impression on Rose Hudson at first, but he sees how much his little daughter loves and depends on her. Can he adjust to fatherhood, or will he always be a disappointment to the women in his life?

Letty Sawyer is terrified of Indians since they killed her adoptive parents. When she ends up on the King Ranch, can Gray Fox show her that all Indians aren’t alike, and he would protect her with his life?

Well done.

A situation that was unknown to the father, and with these two homeless now. Will he be able to open his home and heart to these two. Good narration added to this story I enjoyed. Given audio for my voluntary review

Power of God

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. The narration was good. What struggles await Rose Sterling, as she leaves the orphanage. She is on a mission to bring baby Katie to her Father, but faces hardships along the way. When she finally arrived and meets Will, she doesn't understand his attitude. As the days gone, they both grow closer, but still face obstacles. Will their trust in God get them through it.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

Orphan Finds a Home

A baby was dropped off at the door of the orphanage since the mother was dying. The mother’s last request was for someone to take the baby to her father. Rose, had reached the ripe age of 18 and must leave Sterling Orphanage, so she is given the task of presenting the man with a baby he didn’t know existed.

Will Hudson’s heart never healed after his young wife ran off with a gambler. He fills his days with work and has no plans for his future. He turned his back on God and abandoned the house he built for his wife.

When Rose arrives with a baby in her arms, she tells him that Katie is his daughter. How can he trust that this child is his?

I loved Rose’s strength and heart of love for those around her. Will is a genuine, broken-hearted hero who understandably battles with forgiveness and trust.

There are great side characters in this story. This is book 2 in the Cactus Creek series, but it’s thoroughly enjoyable as a stand-alone too.

Great Series!

I loved this book! It was two awesome stories in one!! I love how she tied then together with the Sterling Horse orphans. Mrs. Hopkins certainly writes a great love story! I love how Bible versus are quoted throughout as well. The narrators here were top notch too!

Another great book

Another great book by JCH. I love the twists and turns, although there is generally a happy ending and every thing works out, there are trials and hardships, laughter and tears to get there.
