Deputy Sheriff, Quincey Morris, thought the low point of his week was the twilight shootout between Albuquerque's rival drug gangs, but he was wrong. All of Quincey's training could not prepare him for the confrontation with the vengeful Morgan Stregocia. She has devoted herself to hunting down the descendants of Van Helsing's original "vampire slayers" who destroyed the legendary Dracula more than a century ago. Quincey must save himself and his family from the evil seductress and prevent her from using his great-grandfather's Bowie knife to spill innocent blood in an attempt at reviving the long dead Prince of Darkness.

Continuation of the Dracula tale
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
The book starts with a priest and a mysterious man who is in poor shape. The priest helps this man on the condition he confesses. The mysterious man (Quincy) then recounts the tale of how he came to be in his current state. Once his story catches up to the present time, the priest (Father Jacobson) accompanies Quincy on his quest to stop Strega (the vampire) and rescue his wife and daughter. In the process, he learns Strega has come to Albuquerque to find the descendants of Van Helsing and the people who had slain Dracula.
This book is predictable and unoriginal in many ways, yet, original in other ways. I can't elaborate or I'll give too much away. I had things figured out but, continued to listen just in case I had not. Also, Quincy and Father Jacobson were good characters that I needed to know what was going to happen to them. I wanted to listen to the end.
The narrator (Morgan) did a good job bringing the characters to life. Despite a few characters being written as having an accent, the narrator read all characters fairly the same. There were a few times that this was distracting.
This being my second Bamberg story, I would listen to another.
I would listen to this narrator again.

An Awesome Listen

I liked how this tied in with the original Dracula tale. The story was entertaining and had some interesting characters. The ending was a little predictable but still enjoyable. The narration was good but there were several mispronounced words. If you're looking for a modern day Dracula tale, I would recommend this.
