About this listen

Cover by PS

From New York Times best-selling author Rachel Van Dyken comes the never-before-told story of the brothers from the band AD2.

One girl. Two brothers. Who knew that the sleepy town of Seaside, Oregon, would eventually be the location of both our downfall and our redemption? Drugs, sex, lies, shame...it all led us to the coast. It led us to her. And ever since we met her, our lives have never been the same. You may think you know what really happened - but you don't. After all, there's two sides to every story. This is ours.

Having just listened to this one and the first in the series all this one is, is a retelling of the first book but with the boys POVs intermingled in there. It's a really heartbreaking story of all kinds of love and heart ache. Narration is done well.

Not really a prequel

I liked the story but had a hard time telling the two brothers apart. The narrator did not change his voice for each brother so I had to concentrate on what was being said to figure out who was "talking".

narration hard to follow

I kept getting mixed up when the 2 main characters spoke. They both sound the same. Story was boring at times & then would pick back up. Almost quit listening several times.

Need 2 different voices

Two brothers fall for the same girl… you see where this is going. It took some turmoil between them but they figured it out. Curious to see where the rest of this series goes.

Well, this was a very interesting listen between two rockstar brothers from BC and a small town girl who isn't starstruck. Loooved this tentative little love triangle tiptoeing on eggshells and how it tackles issues with addiction, the media, highschool, trauma and conflict.

Amazing!

Not your usual rocker story. Not any sexy parts. But a really nice love story about 2 brothers and a girl. Well worth a credit. Narrator was very good.

really good

As far as YA goes it is ok but if you are looking for steamy scenes or anything resembling dirty talk, search elsewhere. Narrator is good but again, it's all just meh. oh and book 1 is this same part of the saga from Nat's perspective. I started to listen but just didn't care enough to continue. Twilight this is not, sigh.

Definitely Young Adult

RVD is my go-to author and I needed it today. As usual, I knew the story & writing would be will solid. She has yet to disappoint me. The narrators were good as well.
I must admit, I have read the whole Seaside series already, so this was a good Mpov to give me more insight to the AD2 guys. It is YA so no steamy scenes which is fine and it's not Twilight, which is also fine. IDK why people keep making the comparison.

I Love the Seaside Series
