Publisher's summary

True love may mean certain death in a ghostly affair of risk and passion from New York Times best-selling duo Christina Lauren, authors of Beautiful Bastard.

When Lucy walks out of a frozen forest, wearing only a silk dress and sandals, she isn't sure how she got there. But when she sees Colin, she knows for sure that she's here for him.

Colin has never been captivated by a girl the way he is by Lucy. With each passing day their lives intertwine, and even as Lucy begins to remember more of her life - and her death - neither of them is willing to give up what they have, no matter how impossible it is. And when Colin finds a way to physically be with Lucy, taking himself to the brink of death where his reality and Lucy's overlap, the joy of being together for those brief stolen moments drowns out everything in the outside world. But some lines weren't meant to be crossed.…

Not all that sublime really

I have to first say that the writing duo of Christiana Lauren is one of my favorites. So when I heard they were writing a YA book it was instantly put on my “must listen” list. Unfortunately, this was not as good as I had hoped or expected. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. I enjoyed the mystery of Lucy and trying to figure out her purpose. Sadly the enjoyment ended there.I couldn’t connect with the rest of the way the story was unfolding. Some of the crazy things Colin did to be with Lucy was just so reckless and the ending was too weird. In the end I get it. I understand what the authors were going for but it fell flat in the execution in my opinion. Hopefully their next try at YA will be better.

✫✫ 3.5 Stars ✫✫

This book was 4 stars until the end! What kind of ending was that?????? I was completely into this book from the beginning and was dying to figure out what was going on but seriously is was like running , running, running... BAM ...TREE! I can't say much without giving spoilers so I'll just say I get it but really did it have to go there!!
The narration was good.

Excellent Idea, No Connection

Lucy is dead, walking among the living and doesn't know how or why she's there. Drawn to the much alive and well Colin, their relationship begins.

He researches what tragic event lead to her death and she learns to navigate, yet is frustrated they can't physically be together. Through dangerous stunts, Colin finds a way for them to bond, yet will he have to join her on the other side for their relationship to become real.

Fascinating idea, but no depth to characters and relationship. Predictable and lacking connection.

NOT what I'm Used to with this author

Would you consider the audio edition of Sublime to be better than the print version?

No

What about Elizabeth Louise and Cal Wembly ’s performance did you like?

Love the narrators!

Any additional comments?

I love all of the books from Christina Lauren but this one...I don't know what to say. Usually I can't NOT listen to a book, it took me 3 days to finish this book. I normally ignore everything and listen to my books but this one I didn't mind pausing and then didn't RUSH to get back. The core of the plot is good but I just don't know why I could not get into this book like others. I think a lot of it is because if took me a bit to get what Lucy is and how so many people can see her as a Walker and others can't "because they aren't looking". I wish I could put my finger on it! The good news is the price is GREAT, I would NOT use a credit but definitely pay for it if you are looking for a YA Sci-Fi. At the beginning of the book she was hearing a voice...what happened to that voice, it just stopped talking to her?? Just all around hard to get into. I would love to hear what others are thinking about this one, if it's just me or if others found it hard to get into also.

So horrible

I can't believe this story is written by my favorite authors why would they write such a bad book. I would never recommend this book to anyone. I was so excited to read something new by these two but this was not it. Can't believe the editor let this get published.

a very good book

I really enjoyed this book. It was different from the ones I have listened to. I really like the dual narration except that instead of just each chapter I wish the male would read the male parts even when it was a she chapter and vise a versa. This is a must read or listen to.
