About this listen

Short on time? Or maybe you’ve already read the book, but need a refresh on the most important takeaways. In a quick, easy listen, you can take the main principles from Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It!

Ever find yourself in a difficult business situation? Or do you have a difficult time relating to others when conversing? Never Split the Difference, written by Chris Voss, addresses one of the most difficult subjects that most of us learn but never master: The art of a good negotiation.

Whether you realize it or not, everyone in this world uses negotiation on a regular basis, whether it is at work, the grocery store, or under their own roof. You may not even realize there are other alternatives to the seemingly normal outcomes of conversations in your life. Voss walks the listener through various difficult and trying conversational situations, showing you what works, and what doesn’t. He also teaches you how to read subtle body language clues as you observe someone you are speaking with. Written in 2016, this book is up to date on the most current methods of interrogation used all the way from your local police precinct to the FBI.

Chris Voss is a well-known businessman as well as an author and professor. He worked for 24 years as a hostage negotiator and is responsible for freeing some of the most famous political prisoners of the late 90's. Voss retired from the FBI in 2007 and currently runs his own consulting company, The Black Swan Group.

The narrator had a great voice is very easy to listen to. He provided a summary of each of the chapter, and I was able to take notes on which sections I would like to hear more about when I read the novel. In the meantime, it gave me some good talking points and key tips/tricks negotiating. This was a story based learning, and the stories were real all based on a host Ater and his experience, so it was interesting and easy to understand the diff scenarios. However. If you’re looking to understand the full book and become an awesome negotiator, by reading or listening to this … you will not achieve your goal. This is basically entice me to purchase read and listen to the full book // while giving me very good and useful information I can start using immediately in my life and business work, thank you
