About this listen

Billions died during the global civil war that followed the outbreak. Anarchy took grip. Chaos ruled. The world collapsed. In Britain, the evacuation failed. Nowhere was safe from the undead.

Four months after the outbreak Bill Wright has found safety in a ruined abbey in southern England, but he is still alone. All he has for company are the files sent to him by his shadowy contact, Sholto. On those, he believes he has found the origins of the undead, and the vast conspiracy in which he discovers he played an unwitting part.

He needs answers, and knows the only place they will be found is at the facility that created the virus. As he journeys through the desolate ruins of a dead civilisation, he meets other survivors. He rescues some, is rescued by others, but ultimately discovers that zombies are not the most deadly threat in an undead wasteland.

I liked this book because the guy gets his leg back and is able to keep away from zombies and has food now and another person

Good

Wish he wouldn’t have found or got with other survivors. Their characters are very unlikable. But overall a good story.

Decent until other ppl come along

I find myself bothered by how sniveling, weak, and useless most of the characters are. This book contains more action and a little more oomph than the first book. The main character has seemed to grow, though. The plot twists are nice.

Better but...

not the best. the storyline is very weak. I will not order the third book.

So so

So far I find this series to be enjoyable. It can be hard to follow at times as some of the lingo is foreign but you figure it out as it goes along. Reminiscent of Mark Tufo novels somewhat. Very enjoyable.

Good sequel...

Any additional comments?

What a great series! I was able to immediately start book 3. The narration is perfect.

Better than the first.

Very captivating. The storyline takes you on a journey that is easy to follow. Can't wait to start Book 3.

Anxiously awaiting book 3

What did you love best about Surviving the Evacuation, Book 2: Wasteland?

I liked that the author shows flawed characters struggling to survive the downfall of society.

What did you like best about this story?

Frank Tayell includes a backstory about the creation of the Zombie plague.

Which character – as performed by Tim Bruce and Ruth Urquhart – was your favorite?

Sholto's character was fun to listen to and sounded very American while Bills narrarator was distinctly British.

Any additional comments?

I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Zombies

Like the story over all. sometimes sounds like 2-3 different people reading the same character. This story is a nice change from the grizzled super commandos that usually fight the ZA. It shows that people in crisis are pretty much useless, whiney, and selfish. There will be some good people but they will suffer. like the turn at the end. I want to see what happens next. Not every ZA story needs to have gore in it. The stories are never really about the Zombies. They are about people living it in.

wierd audio changes?

I loved the first book, zombies in the nursing home! The 2nd was from the outbreak and how Bill survives day to day. This book continues his travels as he is obsessed with finding out how it all began. I could not relate to that at all so this one dragged for me. Not sure if I want to find out.

Not as interesting as the first 2 books
