About this listen

When an invading army crosses the Mercerian border, the only thing standing between victory and defeat is an heir to the crown with no battle experience.

Enter Dame Beverly Fitzwilliam, who has trained for this moment since she first held a sword. From her relentless pursuit of knighthood to the day she single-handedly saves the king's life and earns her spurs, she has searched for someone worthy of her fealty.

By swearing to protect the life of this untried Royal, she undertakes an adventure that will have her travelling across the kingdom fighting desperate battles, all the while surrounded by powerful enemies who conspire to bring down the crown.

Her destiny will be determined in a monumental clash of forces where success can save the kingdom, but failure can only mean death.

Sword of the Crown is an action-packed medieval adventure that is the second audiobook in the Heir to the Crown series. If you like epic battle scenes, dangerous enemies and mysterious prophecies, then you will love Paul J Bennett's tale of a knight who will not submit. Join the battle today!

Engrossing sword and sorcery stand alone. Dame Beverley Fitzwilliam is the Sword of the Crown. This second book in the series follows Beverley from her birth, through her training, her knighthood, to swearing service to the young Princess Anna. Beverley's story is contemporaneous to that of Gerald Matheson, Baron Fitzwilliam's protege, whose story is told in Servant of the Crown.

The narration by Greg Patmore is superb. Greg brings the characters and story to life.

Exciting Sword and Sorcery

The author keeps your interest from the first page to the last second and I will definitely be looking for additional volumes in this series. Actually it is very possibly worth 6 stars.

Outstanding

I love these books, with the narration it is taken over the top of excellent. The characters you love in the books come to life in such a fabulous way.

Highly recommended..

Absolutely fabulous.

A bit faster of a start and the plot twists and turns were a bit more related--but still character development. The world is beginning to flesh out and I'm excited to continue.

As from the first book, it was an enjoyable story where the characters are not perfect and worth cheering for! Thanks for an enjoyable read--this goes for all three of the initial books. I'm into book 4 now. I hope vols. 5-10 will be released by the time I'm done... so... you have a week!

As good as the first--maybe even better!

To me this series has the flavor of Louis L'Amour's Europe based (early Sackett) novels but with elves, dwarves, orcs, and mages. The magic is used as Deus Ex Machina, and does not overwhelm. The characters have depth and draw empathy.

Love Louis L'Amour? This series is for you.

This book holds the moments you didn’t know you wanted. Dazzling battle scenes and new characters. Can’t wait to hear the third.

Story development

If you like stories without ending, closure and evil triumphing over good, this is perfect. The narrator though is excellent,

Disappointing
