Concise, accurate, entertaining

this is a good manners book. it doesn't draw out each point with a long story example like many other books. it's focused around eating but still covers social functions bcs most social functions include some type of meal.

Pared down to the nub of the topic, not flowery

Covers the modern-day needs of coping with today's social, business, and travel scenes. Why do mistaken actions, especially unknowingly or unintentionally, which result in other people disliking or disrespecting you, which thus can narrow and reduce your opportunities to be accepted and well-regarded?
Very little here is written as old tradition-for-tradition's-sake. This is for now and the foreseeable future, to position you for success in the real world!

Best of year

Loved this book. Yes, it's about table manners, etiquette and staying cool in sticky situations, but it's done with panache and even made me laugh out loud a few times. Great advice in here too!

Useful review

Concise, clear, honest presentation. Delightfully droll at times. Useful throughout. If used as a review, the audiobook will suffice. If bought to learn the basics, I suggest buying a paper volume to refer to as the need arises.

Nice refresher

I definitely learned some things, but mostly a nice refresher. There were a couple of things that I completely disagreed with but maybe they were just a difference in culture.
