About this listen

Narrated by best-selling rom-com duo Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton!

Dean is certain that fake dating the cute owner of his new bakery investment could be messy...but messy can be fun.

Norah Donahue wants bakeries, not babies, but her matchmaking mother won't stop trying to play Cupid.

Dean Moser is a cocky stock market savant whose friends are all settling down, leaving Boulder's infamous ladies' man all alone.

When Norah needs a fake date for her parents' anniversary party, her new silent investor is the perfect guy for the job. It seems like a foolproof plan....

That is until Norah decides to break her biggest rule and lock lips with Dean in the middle of the party to spite her meddling mother.

Turns out that Dean and Norah's chemistry is sizzling hot, and mixing business with pleasure could turn out to be a recipe for disaster.

Or maybe they can have their cake and eat it, too.

Love it!

Oh how the audio was even better than the book! How Dean and Norah ever thought they had a fake relationship made me chuckle! These two had such chemistry from the beginning. How could Norah think Dean was hanging out in her shop for the croinuts only? I just have to shake my head at these two lol. They are so cute together right from the start. Dean is such an amazing fake boyfriend, standing up for Norah with her family. Norah is the perfect plus one for wedding/prewedding activities. Watching their relationship evolve from not so fake to something much more was perfect. These two really brought out the best in each other, especially Dean helping Norah to let loose a little and Norah showing Dean he deserves love. Absolute perfection!

For laughs and giggles listen to this!

So excited Dean gets his story! He is such a great guy in the other stories. How thoughtful and helpful he is. In here he thinks he has it all...finally. But does he really? Norah we briefly met in the last book. She really surprised me!

There are many wonderful and fun moments in here. A large number involve the character from the other books. I loved the idea of the “swingers..not” game. Their kissing is so HOT! They are so desperate for each other it’s coming off the pages.

Overall it’s a great addition to this series. I love we still get to see the other “crazies” (his friends). I love the idea where the all the titles come from. I did listen to Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton read this to me. I might have had one or two ear-gasms.

Commitment Phobes

Dean and Nora cook up a plan to fake date to help each other out but it quickly turns into more. Dean is a bit of dick but has his best friends Kate and Lindsay around to sort him out and help him and Nora find their HEA in this hilarious read. Great performances by Teddy and Erin.

Take a Number

Take a Number is a laugh out loud romantic comedy that has you craving baked goods while listening.

After Nora's mother frustrates her too much she storms out of her bakery. Dean goes out into the alley to check on Nora and once they realize that they are both in need of dates they come up with the idea to fake date to get everyone off their backs. When Nora's mother annoys her again, she breaks her own rule and kisses Dean. As their fake relationship grows they begin to wonder if they can have their cronuts and eat them too.

The banter between Dean and Nora was fun and their chemistry heated up more and more throughout. I previously read the book edition and was a little annoyed by Dean but after listening to the audiobook version of Take a Number I have changed my view of the story. Teddy Hamilton gave a whole new view of Dean and Erin Mallon gave Nora even more personality.

"He’s made my mother stop speaking to me for five blissful days, so he deserves free croinuts for life." ~ Nora, Take a Number by Amy Daws

Surprising Heat and Honest Love in Equal Measures

I have always wanted to know more about the fun and happy go lucky friend Dean, and he didn't disappoint. IN fact, he surprised me in so many ways. The easy going friend let real love slip past all of his defenses because Nora was like no other woman he has ever met. She challenged him and opened his heart to so many possibilities. He only needed to decide what he truly wanted. Their journey is awkward, funny, and so special. Do not miss this wonderful couple!

If I thought the story itself was marvelous, then Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon launched it into the stratosphere with their superior narration and personal touch! They are utterly incredible with their unique style and personal vulnerability. They breathed life and color and so much emotion into this story to make it a true masterpiece! Oh what a true gem to savor.

Dean and Nora

So happy that Dean finally got his HEA. Even though he was frustrating at times, I always liked him in the previous books. Nora is a little stringent with herself in life and Dean is the breath of fresh air that she desperately needs. some of the side characters were infuriating in this book, like the moms and the ex. My biggest issue was that Kate was super annoying. I loved her in the other books but she drove me bonkers in this one.
overall a fun book that was Narrated perfectly by Erin and Teddy.

ugh Erin Mallon

I really like Teddy Hamilton but the annunciation Erin Mallorn uses drives me nuts. generally I refuse to purchase anything read by her; sad face because I'd really like some of those books, but somehow I missed her in this one. I liked the story just not her voice.

I want to live in this world!

I can always count on Amy Daws for humor, heat, and great audiobooks! I’ve read or listened to every book in this series. I look forward to each installment and this was no exception. I am a sucker for mutual appreciation/pining before a couple gets together and I also love a fake relationship with that setup. This book definitely delivered on that! The chemistry and tension between our leads was very satisfying. I also enjoyed both Norah and Dean’s professions because I appreciated that I was reading about driven, successful people that are around my age and successful in ways that feel true to life. I loved revisiting the characters from prior books, I thought this book had a great balance of time spent focused on the main couple and time with other people. I never felt like the world outside their relationship was ignored. I enjoyed that we got to know them as whole people. Each had family that shaped them and a support system of friends. I found a few phrases repeated throughout the book - lots of particular laughing - but it wasn’t too severe.
I love listening to Erin Mallon narrating Amy Daws, she strikes just the right tone. I felt both narrators did a great job and this was a fun listen!
I received a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Dean and Nora

Amy Dawes has done it again with Dean's story and made him likeable. I like this book set in Boulder with the same friends but is a totally standalone. Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton did a fantastic job narrating.
